Okay, let's be fair here. Page 6 was her fault. If something I consider a pet crawled onto my lap, I'd probably try to show it affection too. Hell, if a non-pet does that the reactions should either be me getting mad or taking it as some sort of sign of affection from them.

@Glomoro Idk, don't cats get away with this kind of thing all the time? At least, the cat owners I know just take scratches and bites in stride if the cat is tsun by nature instead of cuddly.

@chonkury This isn't about a cat, though. This is a human girl that doesn't want to be treated as a pet to begin with, so that latter half of my comment is probably the most relevant to her. She should be expecting reactions in the ballpark of "Hey, what are you doing? Get off of me" or "Ah, are we this close now?"

But as for that cat thing, that's pretty much the "play fighting" sort of stuff they do with each other a lot of the time. If they really wanted to hurt you, they'd probably do a lot worse. They're just well equipped to mess you up, so even that playful stuff can draw blood, it's not like you're built the way they are. Less resistant to their lowest damage settings as it were. You really do not want to be attacked by a cat that's actually out for blood.

For this case in the chapter, even though the girl is basically attacking him for real, they're built so differently that she's probably barely doing anything to him, he can pretty much play that off as the cat play fighting level of stuff. It's also a manga, so a lot of violence can be written off as slapstick comedy even if taken to an absurd point.

Re the absurdity, I suppose that's the only thing that's keeping me from feeling really disturbed by this; the girl's anxiety and fear are quite real and I can't help feeling for her even if I enjoy the literal and figurative fluffiness. I don't blame her for reacting the way she does, at this point she's still stressed out and nothing makes sense. All the same she's lucky she wound up with this guy, she could have wound up with someone else who'd eat her.

This way to real for me it’s like watching that person who adopted a cat and was way to fucking friendly with it to the point it was honestly was quite anxious. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have a bandaid on at all times at this point
