Why does everyone hate Fuuka so much? Tomo would be upset with you all!

Well, considering we haven't been given a reason to like her but continue to get more and more to dislike her is it really that much of a surprise?

Especially if she's the "A RomCom has to have the character that hates MC/FMC but loves/idolizes their love interest" character. Will make her character just that much more unlikeable and unbearable.

inb4 it turns out that the sister's real issue is that she wants attention from both her brother and Ibuki, but is too shy to say anything about it. Also that she's a total brocon and she's pretending to hate him so she doesn't go full dere all the time and embarass herself.

I hope we're gonna get a reason for why she hates men, but any kind of blanket statement of "I hate X group" makes you a bad guy.

It legitimately sucks, because it typecasts lesbian characters in M/F romance stories as being insane and jealous (sometimes but not always) manhaters, who have no connection to the plot beyond their sordid role as unsuccessful homewreckers.

Even if it ends up being a subversion of the trope, the fact alone that such a lazy stereotype being used to push the story is frustrating.

I dont know what could be done to make me like the inclusion of this character. Shes not really likeable in any conceivable way to me and so far she has brought nothing to the table except be another insecurity for tomo to overcome. And i honestly think weve had enough of that for quite a while. Id like for the focus to be on ibuki and her flaws for a bit, since the manga always seems to minimize them. i figure thats not going to happen anytime soon though since weve already started to make up new plot points for ibuki to help tomo overcome instead

Even if her being a psychotic lesbian who hates her brother was justified in some sort of contrived way or just a misunderstanding, I’ve never really seen the appeal of introducing this sort of unrequited sapphic love competitor that serves to do nothing but stir the pot.
She’ll never be a realistic love interest for fmc; she has nothing interesting to say that could affect their current dynamic. Her influence on the story is entirely self-contained within this most recent development.

This arc sucks, and every time an author does something like this it sucks especially extra, because nobody has ever liked it. It’s noticeably bad here because none of the male leads have done anything at all to warrant her spite, so she’s just childish. If anything, it’s even worse that he’s blaming himself for her own issues!

Unfortunately, given the OG audience is Japan, and that this KEEPS SHOWING UP, it is likely that either the Japanese audience likes this shit, OR, Japanese editors insist on it.
