As has been speculated before, she's probably been a hardcore shipper for Ibuki and her brother and hasn't been talking to him because he wasn't dating her yet (and she was pissed at him for being dense).

Also she's not been home at all so this is probably the first time she's found out they are in fact dating.
(She probably does dislike most guys other than her brother though, given what happened to her this very chapter has probably happened many times before to her)

That would be absolutely fucking hilarious.

Baffled that so many comments for the preceding chapters seriously thought Tomo's assumption was correct. Especially since the only evidence was half of a heart two-shot, when we were deliberately not shown the contents of the other half. Obviously that was a setup for some kind of misunderstanding.

I am not saying it is unrealistic or anything, people are shit, but why does the "Girl gets physically assaulted and has to be saved by a guy" have to be so damn prevalent in manga? I really only ever see it here/anime adaptations. And like, 99% of the time it is used just for shipping shit, like making the girl fall for the guy who saves her, which happens twice here in different ways!

Like, I get that Japan's crime statistics are misleading, and that sexism there sucks but does this have to happen every damn time the same fucking way? Like, we do not even get to see Ibuki beat some shitheads up because god forbid that one of the only actual Tomboys in manga gets to be cool.

"We can't make Ibuki look too cool, because she is a girl, so get Tomo to save her." -the fucking editor prolly.

I think I have said before that mangakas so frequently paint by the numbers and cannot resist using damn cliches all the time and that it is pushed by these editors. It is so frustrating how even in this manga, gender roles and expectations dictate that we waste all this time showing this shit AGAIN.
