The latter, this is my first time reading this kinda story, the manga popped up in my homepage and the description didn't mention the age gap or the adoptive relationship, neither did I pay much attention to the boy on the cover image, nor did any of the tags suggest that. I don't like this genre, and still find the intentions of authors making such stories suspect.
I don't get why you're so passionate about this though.

I had no idea about what that name was referring to until I just searched it. Makes sense, at least I learned something out of this.

The authors are largely motivated by their editor's propositions. Their editor/publisher is motivated by profit potential according to some brand for whatever publication they're managing. Accordingly, they're responding to consumer demand.

In my observation, the consumers of this material are virtually entirely normal (or, as normal as you would consider a garden-variety otaku-type pervert, as opposed to a potential criminal), and their interest in the genre usually comes down to it being a hyperbolic expression of female domination alongside the typical attraction to an attractively drawn female character (you're very liable to hear some variation of "god I wish that were me" from them, to demonstrate this). Where the executed dynamic grants the younger party domination over the older party, the fascination is with the irony of such a scenario. And all of this is about completely fictional material, whose imports are rather easy to compartmentalize and/or discard.

Their fixations are otherwise unremarkable or aggressively eccentric. They may even just be trying to be the most "exemplary" in internet communities built around that trope, with no serious interest in it.

I don't get why you're so passionate about this though.

I'm not so passionate that I can't recognize the possibility that someone honestly didn't know what this story was going to be about before deciding to read it, nor am I so passionate that I have a problem with people disliking the premise. Honestly, this chapter was hard for me to look at head-on, and if it's going to continue to be that absurd and one-note, I'm likely to drop it.

My annoyance is with unfunny performative moralism and Jack Thompson-tier arguments that certainly aren't being consistently applied across all media, and much more so when these types deliberately consume media that-- either before or very early on-- they know they won't like, and then go on to publicly declare that they consumed said media and consider it liable to engender grave moral ills. It immediately calls into question the motives of said person, since they willingly consumed it themselves.

At any rate, I've become convinced that these people aren't earnestly speaking about positions they've thought out, rather than regurgitating lines for speaking's (and memeing's) sake. Despite any alarmism, the way they talk and act about the material betrays their indifference.

I'll give this one or two more chapters. I like this setting of a post-Rapture-esque world, but, I absolutely cannot stand when a female main character is throwing themselves at the male protagonist, and he has some half-hearted moral code that keeps him from accepting her feelings and advances while hiding behind, "I don't consider myself worthy enough for you...So, can you please wait [an indiscriminate amount of time] so I can become a man who can protect you?"

My brother-in-Christ, you are the last two people in the world. It's just the two of you. You are man enough to protect her.

...It would have been better if the male character had just been upfront and said, "Look. We have to focus on survival. Once we have that figured out, we can revisit what our relationship could be". But, I guess if that were to happen, we can't have the funny, "ha ha! Look at the busty nun throwing herself at him!" stall comedy routine from 20 years ago.

I feel like a lot of heavy twists are in store for the rest of the manga. I'm finding my interest in drama and psycological manga has been disappearing over time though, so I hope this manga doesn't go that route. Though I'm inclined to believe it might considering the shota tag is missing, so maybe those two tags are also simply missing. The mystery of what happened to the world has me interested though so if drama is present but isn't a heavy focus then I'll probably push through just to learn the ending and see the couple flourish.

Also, I don't know who has the power to do so, but someone needs to add that missing shota tag so these moral busybodies can piss off back to their uber-popular seasonal battle shounen shipping contests.

At no point am I defending pedophilia through describing how slapdash the "nun" aspect of the heroine is. I am on something else entirely-- that description is part of a larger description meant to argue that this narrative is unserious given how it (at this point) slaps together various tropes with no regard for a sense of cohesion between them. A "lamia" is a type of demon, and this scantily clad nun of a nondescript and presumably defunct monastic order bears that as a name.

Me personally, I'm not wasting my time getting indignant about a work with stuff like that, and not when I recognize the interests of the people the author is seeking to appeal to.
