You know I once herald this as one of the best examples of the romcom genre. And while I still really like this it's clear it won't stick the landing. And it sucks because I felt Girlfriend Girlfriend did many things right up until now ranging from characters to situations.

I hate that such a good manga will inevitably be remembered on a bad note. Where people will no doubt say "It's great in the beginning and middle but becomes a drag at the end."

I suppose I expected too much from Hiroyuki. I don't know if he wrote himself into slight corner, but these recent developments kinda lead me to believe he did. Well we'll see how things pan out. I'd be happy to eat my words, but I probably won't this time around.

I'll give this manga credit for being one of the few harems to actually tackle some of the struggles with polygamous relationships in a relatively realistic way. I don't hate these chapters because it's keeping the theme but I do agree that we didn't need the entire final volume dedicated to just this one event. I really would have enjoyed a handful of good romance chapters to finish it out, but I honestly don't see that happening at this point. Still some of the best art in anything ongoing right now though, romcom wise that is.

This manga is at its best when doing comedy shenanigans, a little drama is fine, but going straight from Saki angst arc to Mirika showdown arc with barely any time to breathe wasn't a good idea.
