Calling it, the guy she was holding hands with is just to check her feelings whether she still likes MC or not. I just don't understand why they gotta go near MC's house like that's just plain stupidity

This is what I wanted, couple drama and feeling like I can hate a character for what they have done, not boring best friend will they won't they that won't go anywhere. Ayaka could have been a side character this whole manga and it would improve twofold.

There's only 5 short chapters of the WN in English up to chapter 11 of the manga, and the light novel isn't English translated..

Guess I'll have to wait a long time to see this story come to an end

I don't get how this is supposed to be anything other than exactly what it looks like. She cheated; what's she supposed to have to say to him that's going to make what he saw with his own eyes untrue or irrelevant?
Nab bro, Ayaka is too good for this series. Get my girl out of this mess.
She sucks too. There's no walking back that stupid crap she pulled on him at the inn. This is a one-horse race at this point, unless the chick at the end of this chapter somehow ends up in the running at the last minute.

Gonna do a backflip if the "guy" would happen to be Natsuki in guy clothes (glasses, short hair)

Na it’s nothing as clever as that.
The glasses guy had been persistant in hitting on her and she decided to go out with him on a trial date. During the date she decided that she really liked the MC. However, she was dumb enough to do it in front of his house. I guess she thinks it wasn’t cheating because she didn’t sleep with him.
The only other thing I would add is even without the “cheating” he should have dumped her.
Yeah, even a “trial date” is cheating, especially if she’s dating someone who’s been actively pursuing her for a while. That guy wants to bang her and she’s knowingly opening the door To that possible date outcome. Also, if it was just a trial date and she didn’t actually like him, why did she interlock her fingers with him? That’s not something you do unless you’re actually serious.

If she (along with her scheming friends) decided that the MC was cheating on her (which he absolutely was NOT) it explains her behaviour on the date where she was a total bitch. They should have just dumped the MC at that point, I don’t understand the logic of this trial date at all. She came out of that trial date deciding she still likes the MC? But she thinks the MC is a cheater didn’t she? It’s just not adding up.

I’m not saying the MC was a great boyfriend, but he didn’t cheat. The female friend she was always jealous of and the MC had a completely platonic relationship. Genderswap that friend and none of this BS makes sense at all.

This is dumb to a level where I'm now honestly hoping the manga changes the story. There's no possible way anyone can think that's somehow an ok thing to do while being in a relationship.

Uh what, I thought Reina felt bored because Yuuta kept bringing Ayaka. But it seems like he only did it once during their 6 month anniversary?
And it's more like she felt bored because Yuuta was busy during the half month he had issues with his club?
Then she started avoiding him with her own excuses, and even holding hand with another guy? Tf was she saying she didn't cheat?

Of course it's possible that Yuuta omitted the fact that he talked about Ayaka often because this is his flashback.
But even if he did, I think going on a date and holding hand with another guy was just a worse cheating. Not sure what her goal was.

Man, she was so hot on the vol 5 cover. Now I'm confused.

People, it's not what it looks like. All it would take is to see things from Reina's side, which will be revealed in a later chapter. To be clear, she isn't completely innocent, but as you will see, neither is the MC.

We are so conditioned to MCs building harems in anime and manga, whether intended or not. This story shows how that would work out if characters are actual characters.

I really liked this story and have read whatever online LNs are available, but unfortunately, even that is way WAY behind the latest volume. I read up to vol 3 I think and now latest release is at vol 8 iirc.

The manga is starting to show Reina’s side of the story and I don’t think that anyone would try and claim that the MC was a perfect boyfriend.

I don’t think that we’ll be seeing him do something that amounts to cheating but he clearly invests more into his friendship with Ayaka than Reina is comfortable with. Would it be the same problem if Ayaka was a guy? Is it because of time/energy invested, jealousy, both?

I know that it’s kept ambiguous whether Ayaka is into him or not but even she wonders about whether she was the cause of the breakup (was it during that hot spring trip?).

Regardless, the MC never crossed any romantic boundaries with Ayaka or anyone else and remained completely faithful to Reina. So Reina’s insecurities were probably being amplified by her friends, including this glasses guy with ulterior motives who just wanted her for himself.

To be honest their relationship was really odd looking back at it. They go to different universities so they barely ever see each other, so their relationship probably progressed pretty slowly. Also, they never met each other’s friends or family even after a year of dating!?! That’s completely bizarre. A normal person would assume that you were being kept away for a reason after just a couple of months. That’s how you treat your side-piece, not your partner.
