You do directly the opposite of scanlation is supposed to be about. This guy is trying to make money on his product in competition to the publisher by advertising for patreons even. So he wants to make money on copyrighted material and make the owner lose money.
Scanlation should be about promoting and getting out stuff to people that otherwise wouldn't be available outside of Japan. Making money of scanlation, or just feeling entitled to being able to read something for free is not what scanlation should be about.
This is not even just immoral any more, it's completely illegal and can make the scanlator get sued. It's, like I said, a special kind of stupid.

Dude, the manga's still unavailable in practically the entire planet. Even if K manga wants the money from anyone outside the US, there's no way to even give it to them. As for the patreon thing, I don't really know where to stand, but you have to keep in mind that translating, cleaning, typesetting and redrawing are also (a lot of) work. Then the discussion is whether that work deserves financial compensation, but keeping the patreon help optional makes that question an individual one. You don't want to pay? Don't. Whomever does want to can do so.
