What is up with these mangas? They have so much potential and then they turn the romance options for the mc way younger than them. They were his students. He was an adult when they were children. As awesome and heartwarming the story is this is fucking creepy. Not saying the mc is creepy I'm saying the writer is.

Beryl interests me. Him as a sword instructor and his history with each of his students intrigues me. The students themselves (and the vice-commander too) are distinctive and I like what I’ve seen of each of them so far.

But the teased romance (or at least, the implied crushes/affection the students have)? :/// It feels rather out of place or ill-fitting to me. Not simply because of the age-gap or their history either. For example, I feel like Aleucia’s goal (of him getting the recognition he deserves) could still have been accomplished without romance making any appearance at all.

Correction: Swords do be pointy, so dodging it by literally crouching and running under it is a really bad idea. In real world scenario, it is better to keep your position during the fight and attempt to thrust the living shit out of the opponent during their spin instead.
