I think the bald guy was the one that was picking a fight with Schupple when the MC first met him at that bar. While the MC was "fighting" they were both analyzing baldy's moves to determine where to get him with a sword.

The MC was replaying their fight in his head to remember Schupple.

Edit: I went back and checked, it wasn't baldy but my comment still stands.

In fact it's school arc next.
Where Fissel is going to be teacher for spellsword course, and Beryl is asked to assist her in teaching the sword side.

I can see Fissel being a spellsword with focus on magic, implementing sword techniques to enhance her magical combat.

While Myui a spellsword with a focus on the sword, implementing magic to enhance her swordsmanship techniques.

Edit: Okay, nevermind. Already been some discussion about it. Apparently, kinda regrettably (as someone who likes the LN), it seems it'll be following the LN more closely.

You had the same reaction as A LOT of people when the first PV was revealed.
Seriously, when Beryl's design was revealed, people were like, "Wait, this is the novel's design? Not the manga's?!"
And it seems the design got retouched later after people commented on it.

The LN is just... bland. Funny enough, in the first PV, they mention the series' total sales were 5.5M, but what they didn't mention is that the manga alone hit 4.5M copies before the PV dropped. So yeah, the manga outsells the LN by that much, yet the LN is what's being adapted. That's why I'm keeping my expectations low, just in case it ends up being one of the biggest wasted potentials ever.

Frankly, if the studios were smart, they could take all the improvements the manga made to the story and build on that with the LN as the source, making fans happy with a decent adaptation. But seeing the studios in charge... who knows...

Sometimes the Manga and Anime studios don’t want to interact much.
Not to mention that Anime production is so expensive, that it has become like the AAA gaming industry. Min maxing profit led by “corpos” that care little about the actual medium.
Thankfully there are still exceptions, but it’s rough overall.

This is probably one of the best fights i've seen in manga, like ever. It didn't have the flashy fights of other works, but oh my god the exchanges were so good and it actually felt that it was a battle of skill and it was portrayed so fucking WELL. Goddamn, hats off to the author and the artist that drew it, it meshed insanely well.
And then the characters, oh man they're thought out and interacted so well, it didn't feel unnatural at all and was insanely immersive, i am beyond glad that chapter wasn't split into parts it would've ruined the immersion so badly it makes me wince just thinking about it. Would've been an absolute crime to the work.
