But they did, after all the anime was always meant to adapt the LN version of the story, no matter how much watered down that version is compared to the manga, in the end they still gave it a second season too lol

Was it really that bad? I watched a bit of it and while the fight scenes arent as good as the manga I thought they were pretty good, like

But other than that, thanks as always Galaxy Degen, I was worried this was one of the manga that had licensing problems on Mangadex. So that's Alucia's background, what a good girl ;_; I hope the other characters (especially Heimblitz) get these episodes as well.

It's not bad per se, just that the manga is so much better that the anime (and LN by extension) pales in comparison.

The anime follows the LN. This manga does it's own thing. The timeline is a bit different and the fights are more intense and fantastical in the manga. The plot is also more condensed. All in all, two different mediums but the manga is better than both novel and anime

I like that the artist went out of their way to depict the other school as being a totally different style of swordsmanship, with their students practicing one-handed fencing/dueling, versus Beryl's students and their two-handed longsword style.
