The raws have no gifs at all. I just make one whenever I feel like it would add to the experience, but I'm being careful not to oversaturate chapters with gifs.

What messed me up about the gif panel is that it didn't loop and switching pages didn't make it replay. It legit made me think i was imagining the animation.

That's actually the best part, since it's a one time thing you can't drive off the feeling of uneasiness, since you're not sure you saw it or not, which considering the manga theme and genre, it fits perfectly!
