How about a test case? Find a pack, and isolate one deer with your barriers, and observe. See if or how it gets through to escape.

my guy is a little stupid or what? doesn't he realize he is being used 100% right now? welp as things are going in at most 2 o 3 chapters all will be resolved so it doesn't matter, just another case of "who dunnit?"

As someone who has contact with another god, why not ask them for a referral? If it's truly the work of another god, ask why they do it directly. Sometimes the author forget their own MC's power and connections. They should keep a spreadsheet.

The art for this manga is so good but i'm not gonna lie, It seriously lacks direction and purpose it had a really cool opening - political mid section and now its just random side plots with 20 new characters introduced every few minutes. I can't follow anything anymore

Can't the king just go and die among the deer instead of forcing his people to starve to death? All while he himself eats normally (this very chapter he ate breakfast!) and just lies in bed all day.
He's literally worse than your usual "evil and/or incompetent kings"

"Only humans can get through the barrier", then the "deer" go through the barrier... wouldn't that imply that the deer are just enemy soldiers using illusions to look like deer?
Unless the deer has some extra power that supercedes his barrier rules, yes.
Is it definitely a scenario worth considering.
But considering they are "eating" the crops its a stretch to have nobody notice the toothmark being odd.

So let me get this straight this is a punishment for the KING? The starving the whole nation to death, filled with innocent people, is the Deer God's punishment specifically for the king? Are they braindead? If you're a god that wants to punish one person, is this really the way you would go about it? Also don't these deer protect the nation or something? They just think they can easily kill those deer that also have a god's protection.

MC has not developed substantially since the start of the novel. He loses his brain at a moments notice and is way too emotionally involved in this fucking random side plot. This guy is an adult but approaches everything like a teenager.

MC you have been through multiple conspiracies now, you should be able to tell this is one of them, they are doing a coup, most likely both of them worked together to summon these deer so ruin the kingdom so they can come in as heroes, save it and then proclaim a new royal dynasty.

At the risk of upsetting people.

Are you familiar with the Exodus in the bible?
That kind of behaviour with divinities is not unheard of.

It's been heavily hinted that the deer were in fact god messenger and the kingdom's guardian. Even a kid would've noticed there's something terribly wrong with the crops.

It tasted bad, people suddenly became sick, and then there's a creature that have been referred to as the guardian specifically eating those crops.

Imma add:
About the barrier protecting the king, it was made to prevent someone with malicious intent to pass through, but what about poisonous food being brought by a clueless maid? And they also conveniently placed the blame on him and told him to remove the barrier because they "thought it makes the king's condition worse"

I'll say this here, I believe this is definitely part of a coup, but the deers are most likely innocent, and just like the MC, are a hindrance to the coup. That's why they're trying all kinds of mean to remove those guys from the area.

I'm guessing that it goes something like this (No spoilers, just conjecture):

Hooded Guy faction starts tainting the crops, starting with the more remote areas. The sacred deer, protecting the people, eat the crops to stop the people getting ill. Tainting the crops slowly moved in, towards the capital. Deer keep eating tainted crops as a protection measure.

Hooded Guy shows up openly at some stage as an "expert" to try and "combat the problem". Really he's a wolf in sheeps clothing and is the cause, or near the cause, of the actual problem. The only "safe" field of crops is being fed to the Royals and Co. causing many of them to get sick (like the King, he's getting poisoned, cause the crops he's eating are tainted).

The MC shows up and does his barrier thing, aimed at keeping those with "malicious intent" out. The deer walk through it like it's not there, because they don't have malicious intent, they're trying to protect people by dealing with the corruption.

Hooded Guy convinces desperate people in power to cull/kill the deer, leading to the blessing going away, leading to...something? I was going to say leading to the kingdom being conquered, but they're already weak and vulnerable, so maybe a more quiet takeover? or as part of some wider conspiracy against sacred beasts or for some evil god or something? I dunno. ...leading to 'bad outcome' I guess.

WHY the sacred beast god spirit deer thing can't communicate the danger in a more direct method is unknown. But I guess if that happened, we wouldn't be getting this story arc.
