Sometimes I wonder if they remember that they are adults who cannot be forced to do anything
Cultural difference. The Japanese place a high importance on the respect for your elders and parents. No matter how old you are you’re still beholden to your parents. Bluntly, it doesn’t matter if we think that’s stupid, to the deeply traditional Japanese (who this is made for in the first place) it makes absolute sense for Rui. There’s the fact the Japanese place much on public image and how society sees you.

How did he find the divorce papers? Did they not put it in a drawer? I would have assumed they cleaned the place before inviting guests.

I wonder if they'll actually fess up to their deal. They don't know that Itsuki want them to divorce so him actually learning the truth of their relationship means he doesn't have to do anything to get them to divorce. He'll be put in an odd spot with Rui's parents though; he shouldn't want to lie to them since he has their trust but if he doesn't they will have her divorce now and marry a person of their choice which spoils Rui's plans. Also, Rui's goal is to have a divorce that she can use as justification to avoid marriage, so he might not agree with that.

It'd be hilarious if Itsuki turned around and went from "they need to divorce because their marriage will make them miserable" to "they married with divorce in mind but they're so great together; how do I convince them to stay together?". Honestly, if he just looks at how Rui was without Kyousuke, it's quite obvious she needs him.

That really depends on where you're from...
It's a bit odd for Rui who is quite independent and stubborn to be forced into anything though. But well, her entire plan shows she would rather avoid direct confrontation with her parents.

Seriously, this chapter was a gold mine in reaction pic. Also, aw shit, he found the divorce paper. How the heck did he find that?!
EDIT: Ah, yeah, okay, it was in the drawer that opened when the psycho lesbian bumped into it...
I really want to know what happens next.

Also, damn, isn't it the first time we see Rui being so flustered? Almost fooling her ex wasn't the only reason she wanted to hear the "Yes I love her"... :wooow:

Anyway, now she's asking herself about if she's actually in love with her fake husband. About time. I call that progress.

This chapter I find the Kouhai so annoying. To me Hayakawa character type don't mesh well with weak willed characters like Kyosuke, because it feels like she has no one to rein her in.

The annoying lesbian is just not funny, idk why it keeps popping up in romance manga. Who actually finds that trope funny?
I would if the mc, are strong willed or have a smart mouth. If you don't have a character for her to bounce off she just becomes annoying and comes off like a bully.

This chapter got so dumb and absurd that I couldn't stop enjoying it and kept on laughing after every 3-4 pages.
Good shit. I hate using my brain on deep shit, I was born to not use my brain.

Isn’t Japanese culture overly polite when it comes to this stuff? Why are they so afraid of people coming in and calling cap?

They can play it off as FMC being always ready for everything, even the worst case scenario of divorce.
