Yeah. I said this reading the novel too. There is zero reason to keep up the pretenses, and MC could easily threaten to take E class or just leave. The only thing this ultimatum does is highlight the academy's inability to adapt and their willingness to just abandon their standards at first convenience and hand it to students. Students who haven't even started studying yet and have no indication of following the academy's principles.

It’s the theoretical section, if you’re so unconvinced, run an oral exam ask intelligent follow up questions. Cheaters and pretenders can’t deal with in depth probing.
And if your baseless accusations ended up groundless the minimal thing that needs to be done is to apologize. Even kids know that.

Also, incredible improvement on a school exam is something to lauded because an exam should be able to be aced through effort by design (there is also a factor chance as to which question/topic show up).
If it’s a sports competition, then maybe you can be suspicious of sudden improvements.

Like bro, I've put up with customers who spout that shit in my face thinking they were funny, and if I didn't have to worry about the consequences, I'd punch them in the pace and yell, 'shut up and let me do my fucking job'.

Yeah the teachers in the novel are pretty much just guides. Outside of giving basic guidance, they just fuck around in the novel. At least the MC is the chaotic one in this relationship later on into the novel.

Probably would be better just to dance like a monkey for now while seriously planning to defect later. Hell maybe act like a butt hurt noble just to get kicked out easier to make it seem justified. Might make his defection easier now that he has a motive to show up at the Northern kingdoms. A talent that been falsely accused of cheating showing up at our border. Well come right in we will treat you right.
Not to mention, I would also take our world's knowledge and "invent" tech for the North at the cost of his former kingdom.

Also, isn't the dude a noble? Doing this stuff with commoners is one thing but screwing with nobles is another. His mom won't tolerate this and has the backing not to take the academies BS. Nobles have revolted for less especially for muh honour.
