The part that he is just the best mage ever, without ever practicing, does make this story come across as mostly wish-fulfillement. It also doesn't help that the first action we see of the new girl, who is presented as a super powerful mage, is of her being tentacle r*ped and having to be saved by the MC.

Though I think it would be kinda funny if he'd ended up dating this girl, only for after a year or so into the relationship, she also became an abusive bitch towards him.

That tentacle scene was totally out of place, was it their attempt to give some fan-service? If so, then, i presume, it failed miserably, this whole thing just made me uncomfortable.

@darekpawlo Getting a redemption is one thing, but forgiving somebody who made your life that difficult and gave you a load of complexes is another. So her becoming a better person is interesting, but her becoming a romantic interest again is kind of wrong.
