So it's happening..... the thing is happening..... can't believe this. I also still can't believe this continues being 4 pages long omg the wait is agonizing and keeping the pace is sometimes confusing I might need to re-read once its finished.

Thanks for the TL

The wee typo (hurst) was unfortunate but it was a lovely surprise to have more than four pages.

Actually quite like this turn of events.

It's fairly clear that Shu ans Rinko are being put forward as persons of interest/connection for Aya and Mitsuki (respectively), but I expect it won't come to a dissolution of the Main Pair.

But, rather, a chance for them to connect to someone outside each other, in a way they otherwise wouldn't get to; and to assess and reassess what it is they both want going forward.

It would be interesting to see a breakup between Aya and Mitsuki on favor of new relationships; it'd certainly be realistic, because high school loves ending and new ones beginning as we grow is something many people experience. I don't expect it here, of course, because I can't imagine the readers wohld enjoy that on the whole.

But two characters that potentially mean new deep connections and a chance for growth and introspection for Aya and Mitsuki will make for a good upcoming arc, I think.

Dunno how that would be interesting tbh. There is 0 setup for such a development (their relationship is arguably going stronger than ever sans the music bit) and those other characters still are absolute strangers to us that barely have any connection to the mains.
We know they are quite whiny and into the mains. That‘s it.

Author completely lost me now. How are you supposed to form any kind of opinion on these new characters when all they do is monologue in the most main chara syndrome way and uwu stop being nice to me or..

4 chapters showcasing Aya and Koga‘s perfect relationship that people can only dream of into 1 chapter of two randoms woe is me I am falling for this savior.
I am sorry but repeating that over and over just doesn‘t work and do anything IMO. Much rather would have some organic progress soon.

I'm not sure what you mean by "organic progress". The thing you describe could apply to Koga's coworker, but not to Shuu. Shuu is dealing with chronic pain and at no point ever thought something like "uwu stop being nice to me". She's mostly just been filled with rage because of her chronic pain, and she has been taking that out on Aya because she thinks Aya is so blessed.

My initial thought was "omg, they're turning all the girls gay".

I actually don't know where Sumiko-sensei is taking this. A love rival arc when they're already in a relationship is kind of weird, though a breakup/cheating arc is possible I guess, but I don't really think we're going that way. I think, as the whole manga has been going, this is still about music and connection. The theory that this is how Koga forms her new band makes a lot of sense to me, but I'm just down for the ride.

Though I do agree that it's entirely realistic for high school couples to break up and to form new connections and such, I don't actually see how either Aya or Mitsuki could form any deep or meaningful connections with either Shu or Rinko.

Shu is more likely to just use Aya as a means to an end of getting over her own shortcomings and the pain in her knee and beginning to form actual friendship that isn't one sided or that could feel obligatory in nature. Aya has nothing in common that we've seen thus far.

Rinko on the other hand, she is absolutely just using Mitsuki as a way to boost her own confidence. She sees Mitsuki as what she could be, and more or less idolizes her. It's likely that's what caused the infatuation. Because of this, Mitsuki would also not be able to form a deep meaningful relationship with her.

All that said, I don't believe either of them have any actual ill intentions regarding their feelings towards Aya and Mitsuki. It's very clear that neither of them want to get between the girls, and that their feelings are just overwhelming them because one of them knows how she feels and really doesn't want to get in the way while staying close, and the other seems to be giving off the "I'm not gay!" vibes, where she has feelings for Aya but doesn't actually know what they are or how to feel about them yet. It just feels like what would be more likely to happen would be that either one or the other confesses in some way, and either Aya or Mitsuki (Whichever isn't confessed to) overhears it. It causes some mild drama and doubt with them (Especially after Mitsuki's whole mood shift and Aya clearly recognizing it. Mitsuki would have the self doubt and Aya would... Most likely not lol), but ultimately doesn't do anything to their relationship. Aya has grown to the point of knowing what she wants and being more likely to fight for it, and this could even end with Mitsuki deciding she doesn't need a band and getting back into the swing of things.
