Man, this Itsuki dude really is a fucking shithead. He's so fucking conceited that he won't even allow the possibility that what he says may not happen so he tries to bully Umi into believing him. I haven't been this ticked at a character in a while. And Umi isn't that much better. Completely avoiding your boyfriend for no good reason without explaining to him why, what a fucking asshole she is, too. And what the fuck is with this ridiculous riddle game? Grow up, girl.

@FredFriendly well, Umi should have been a little more talktive for sure.
But I don’t think that Itsuki has bad intentions: probably he experienced something that didn’t change (maybe something in which he made an effort too) and it was an awful situation, so he never reserched further and thinks that the future he sees can’t change if drastic decisions aren’t made.

Yeah I'm not liking the turn it's taking with that annoying new guy. Every character, except for the female friend, annoyed me in this chapter. ^^'

The more this goes on, the more I feel like she's actually going to die soon

If the shithead is so positive about his vision, it shouldn't matter whether or not Umi spends time with her Rintarou as he'll be the cause of her death anyway.

And... why the fuck is Umi sharing her thoughts with this dickhead she just met? She doesn't even care if he says shit about her boyfriend. He acts like he's her boss and that his word is the word of God. He really is full of himself.

Huh... I guess I am one of the few that like Itsuki, Umi and the girl friend actions in this chapter, instead of the protagonist.

I realize that this is a work of fiction that involves supernatural elements, but the whole breaking into school to learn a valuable life lesson thing is really dumb, and in reality would probably make things worse between everyone. Especially if they had gotten caught.

Wait, wait, hold the phone! He didn't see it being Umi's fault, he just saw Umi blaming himself. Well, duh! Of course if she dies Umi's going to blame himself. He's the type. And it was conditionally at that--he said "Was it all my fault?" If he'd had even a tiny bit to do with it directly, he wouldn't be asking, he'd be saying.
So Itsuki telling her Umi's going to be the cause is just him being a moron. Glad that's cleared up for us readers at least.

Tbh it's Rintarou who has been annoying me for a while, ever since he defended the stalker. So I approve of Umi's actions.

Itsuki is an asshole tho, for no good reason, about a dude who befriended him.

Also, @Purplelibraryguy, Umi is the girl. Rintarou is the name of the male protagonist.

This whole thing is so needlessly complicated. This is yet another problem that could have been fixed if they just talked to each other.

Okay all these four characters are being stupid.

Itsuki's flaws have already been detailed in this comment section so I wont repeat what others had said.

Tarou is being a codependent baby. I can understand him being upset that his girlfriend is flaking on him and that he feels like Umi is cutting him off after in favor of other people. However, devaluing all of Umi's other friendships as not important, thinking you should be the only important person in Umi's life is just being petulant. Although I think the author is intending him to be in the wrong here so I guess it's not too much of an issue. Still annoying.

Umi's plan of making sure Tarou is more independent is good in theory. Especially since she's getting all the signs that point to her death being seemingly inevitable, which means she wants to make sure Tarou will be okay without her. But her method is all wrong. Instead of cutting him out of her life without warning, no matter how temporary the period would be, maybe Umi should've talked to him about his codependency issues and ask him to not worry so much and accept the fact that other people will come into their lives. Also the fact that she's going to hide information about Itsuki's vision is just asking for more forced drama down the line.

Minori's character is all over the place. She started out having a crush on Tarou. Then she hangs with Umi and seems to forget about Tarou. Then she gets angry with Tarou and it seems like she has no feelings towards him other than frustration and she tries her best to cut Tarou out of Umi's day to day life. These past couple of chapters sort of implied that Minori wants to be more important to Umi than Tarou (why was she angry when Tarou said she's "just a friend" to Umi?) Now she wants Tarou to improve himself so that he can patch things up with Umi and she seems to still be harboring feeling for Tarou. This isn't "realistic characterization" it's inconsistent writing.

Seriously this story is getting kind of stupid. It's like the author had no idea how to stretch the narrative so the author decided to implement drama between the characters only the author is not skilled enough to properly write said drama without it being convoluted and forced. It's just drama for drama's sake.

Gotta agree with your analysis. I would also add that Umi will no doubt also hide the fact that that shithead is a two-faced bastard who dissed her boyfriend and who will also most likely continue to pretend to be Rintarou's friend.

@Memnon Doh!
. . . There are too many manga.

@KazumaLee94 Well, as to Rintarou, I think it's been pretty clear from the start that he's not what you'd call mentally healthy. "Codependent" nuthin, he's flat out dependent on her; she's his saviour from depression, the antidote to his otherwise bleak world. He used to be a shut-in who feared everything, now he's still a shut-in who fears everything but his longing for her is stronger than his fear so he goes out into the world because she's there in it, like Gollum leaving the tunnels under the mountains to seek the ring. And like Gollum, he gets upset when anyone else has a claim on his preciousss. Healthy? No.
Umi's plan is just stupid because she's an idiot; I think that's fair enough. This is probably the first time in her life she's ever tried anything that isn't utterly straightforward, so no surprise if it's not that well conceived. It's weird that she's managing to not tell Rintarou something, though, so that feels like "done for forced drama" all right. We'll see how long she can keep her mouth shut.
Minori . . . yeah, that's all kind of weird when I think about it.
