o7 for esta. even with my horrible memory of how important she is. she will be missed
ty for the translations
Esta was seen in the first chapter kissing another girl, then there isn't much of her for a while until she reappears when Ali is in mourning revealing that her gf also died. Esta helps Ali start to deal with the loss she faced, getting closer through shared trauma, helping Ali start to grow again. She has been a positive driving force mostly existing adjacent to the main girls until her getting involved with Ali.Cant remember how important/if Esta has been showed in earlier chapters, but Rest In Peace
It's not misery porn, but it is an incredibly wholesome and sweet story intermixed with the repercussions of war and abject tragedy. So if you can't stomach tragedy then stay away, it does have a major character death halfway in, but it is a genuinely beautiful story that has some of the sweetest moments within itSo i've been trying not to read this until it ends because i really can't stomach yuri tragendies anymore. I'll be devastated for days, unironically. But i guess this is basically miseryporn, right? Should i stay clear?
Thanks, maybe i will wait until it ends. If one of the maincouple dies while i was invested in it, man, i would feel like shit. It's not misery porn, but it is an incredibly wholesome and sweet story intermixed with the repercussions of war and abject tragedy. Technically one of the main two is functionally immortal (or maybe fully immortal we don't know if there's a way for her to actually die) so she "dies" fairly often but comes back, while the other one is a healer and not a fighter so neither is in much danger of properly dying and staying deadThanks, maybe i will wait until it ends. They are fighting for the school (the orphanage) that raises them and gave them food/place to stay/education.i can’t tell if who they are even fighting is actually important to the story or not
Honestly I think the fact that the manga is vague about the orphanage and whether it's actually the good guys or not helps with the big giant thematic part of the story about war being bad. It doesn't really matter if the orphanage has helped these kids or if they are truly good or not, because the orphanage is still killing children by sending them out to war. They are fighting for the school (the orphanage) that raises them and gave them food/place to stay/education.
I think it was mentioned in Seiran's backstory a few volumes back that she wanted to go out and fight to pay back for what they've given her.
So, the orphanage is holding onto a forbidden magic spell book in which they wanted to protect, so they raise these children to go out and fight in the battlefield.
Honestly, I can't even wholeheartedly say that the school is the good side or the bad side. We don't have enough context here. But, well, even if we ever have context one day, I'm not even sure if it'll matter in the end, as we can't escape the fact that Seiran's body wasn't destroyed by the enemy, she was disposed by the orphanage's choaker...
