I'm not dropping this, I like the mangaka and I want to see if they are going to develop this plot in a "everyone falls in love with the other one and actually work as a throuple" or if they are going to do a "normal" developtment where we see how our protagonists try to make it work and realise it doesn't because they get annoyed seeing their "main love" going on dates with the "third one", because Fushimi has showed no romantic love toward Shinjou and she was the one breaking down having to keep herself away from Karasuma, if she sees them kissing either she would jump and kiss them both to "reset" her mood or hold it and get angry/anxious, Shinjou IN THIS VERY SAME CHAPTER said that she doesn't feel love towards Karasuma the same way she feels toward Fushimi, and that she only sees him with respect for becoming an author for her, and Karasuma was having the common arc of "forgetting his old love by being around his true one" starting to draw for the love of it instead for Shinjou and in that he was falling for Fushimi.
So I actually want to see what is going to happen now, because to be honest I don't care about Shinjou, she feels like the least developed one of the three and actually feels like she was going to be the old love like in traditional manga, so if this arc is going for a "happy ending for everyone" the mangaka better give her more screentime in tons, like, I'm sure she only started having a personality in the last 7 chapters (to compared to other romcoms, that she got a personality in chapter 15 is still a record).

poly haters r crazyyyyy
you basically never see this level of pushback on regular harem Manga
homophobia is real
"Regular" harem aren't actual polygamy usually, and in the few that are that is usually the intention from chapter 1 (Kanojo mo Kanojo) or developed across dozens if not hundreds of chapters, instead of a sudden asspull that goes against everything written so far. There is not even a remote implication of Shijou being bisexual or Fushimi being attracted to Karasuma.

Suggesting 'homophobia' because people don't like asspulls is very much peak current year literacy.

The Lovecycling ending. For big ups to Mother Earth, yo.

But yeah, pretty cool ending. I like how the final relationship isn't centered on any one of the three of them, which prevents it from feeling too one sided. The only real problem I have is that Shijō never really showed any sort of attraction to Fushimi, while the other two were pretty clearly attracted to both each other and her, so she's sort of getting the short end of the stick here. One of the first things I learned about anime was that all anime girls were bisexual, though, so it'll probably be fine.

I can't imagine a poly relationship working out if it's still A>B B>C >C>A. Shijou literally only has eyes for the 'boy'. The boy literally only has eyes for the 'girl'. And girl only has eyes for Shijou. There's no poly 'everybody loves everybody'. The childhood friend of the boy is literally the degenerate mangadex/redditor living out their fetish fantasy without giving a shit about how Shijou feels.

Why it's weird?
Weird is when they make 5 girls or more in a mega harem just because.
This is one is just a regular poly relationship, something that is more common than most people know (it's just that as far I know most poly people don't make it public)
Idk I'm just a traditionalist, but it just doesn't sit right with me. You can't truly, fully love someone if half your time is spent on another. You can't fully trust someone who isn't fully completely devoted to you. Speaking from personal experience, loving someone who isn't entire focused on you is misery. It makes you go after them more which then turns them away more as you get more desperate. All three of these kids love someone who doesn't share their feelings.

A poly relationship is no different than a mega harem. If you devotion isn't fully on one sole person, you have no devotion at all. By having another, your are saying that "You aren't enough"

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I know that we all have different values and world views, and while that might contribute to our support/disdain to poly relationships, can we talk about why poly relationship is bad specifically in this manga?

There are three relationships that don't even reciprocate. Two of them won't ever be. One girl is not interested in men, and the other is straight. And then they agreed to this in less than half a chapter.

You can be in a poly relationships or argue for it all you want, but you can't possibly argue that a relationship that doesn't reciprocate will work.

Several things can be true at the same time: You can be pro poly, you can like this manga, and this is just bad writing.

❌ hating it solely because it's poly and/or GL
❌ liking it solely because it's poly and/or GL
⭕️ realizing it's likely doomed because it doesn't match their relationships, motivations or preferences

-Traditional people are unhappy because poly relationships almost always fail after someone is jealous or old or wants a traditional marriage/nuclear family

-Open people are happy because they get to read a manga that’s novel and different: poly without it being a psychological drama or harsh art and show the mainstream something different.

-Neutral people are uneasy because even in something as romantic as “no one gets left behind”: it’s toxic having a->b ; b->c ; c->a and no cross love.

-The author is just trying to get paid and hoping for another anime for legacy and clout despite realism versus stylized character development or plot

-My personal opinion is no one of these 3 people are smart enough to make the romance work. To be both novel for excitement and stable for comfort. They all act like they’re in high school or act like manga characters 😭

Best comment I've seen here

Personally I don't think it was made in a great way and many things could be better, but I'm happy to read something that's not generic

Though I think people are being too Hard in The triangle thing. Chapters 23+ Will obviously work their relationship and fix the shortcomings. It's not like you need to be 100% Stable to start a relationship of 2 people, you can work as things goes on. Same thing here

I also don't fault people dropping but it's so weird to argue " it does not work irl!! " as this doesn't makes sense... a lot of other loved mangas are much more toxic than this and people just don't care

I'm more impressed that The general public didn't care about shijou being a cuck ( and Yes this is a thing, next chapter is hilarious ) than this triangle thing

I kinda hope that in The end they Will reach another conclusion though

I love that mostly of the posts are about the 100 kanojo reference.
Like Mushoku Tensei, SnK and CSM, 100 Kanojo came to break standards in its genre.
