I'm still wondering why doesn't she go back to his time in middle school and kill both the guy who started the bullying and this guy even before MC's personality changed. Hopefully they explain why and it's not because
  • the plot conveniently made it so the watch can only go back in time up to a certain point or
  • she just doesn't want to kill them bc ethical bullshit.
(editing bc I can: as a middle schooler she could have just taken a weekend, travel to where the middle school bully guy lived, end him, and go back to her place. She has infinite attempts to get this right. If Yae or the mastermind guy ever acts she can just deal with them then.)

Or maybe this is the only time she can realistically reinsert herself in his life? Like if she was living far away in middleschool it would be impossible for her to come back and help at that time, where as a high schooler would have a little bit more flexibility where they attend and/or an opportunity opened up at the time that she didn’t end up taking the first time for whatever reason

THEY HAVE TEACHERS!!!

There is no way they have teachers, no one can be this blind
This is like an East Asian thing. It was common place before the internet became mainstream to sweep controversy under wraps. Especially so in places like Japan, Korea, and China where "face" is a major part of their culture and where schools have shareholders. I won't go into the details, but private schools, at least, are a for-profit business first.

We don't know how exactly her time travel works, we can infer that it can be done multiple times, on the platform incident where she made the bully fall, she meticolously planted the toy in a very specific spot, with that is implied she probably tried it many times before.

It could be she can time travel at any time but only to a specific spot in time, so she can quickload but never quicksave, otherwise I am sure she would have thought of creating checkpoints. Can she really quickload at any time? Next chapter should tell.
I think she reached a similar spot before, page 6 looks like she heard it before but she knows they are not out of the danger zone.

I don't think you understand. It would be very feasible to quickly murder someone and get away with it--affecting the MC's life minimally in the process--if you could just rewind time every time anything fails. Even if you had to travel miles to do it, you literally just need a weekend of free time.

An explanation that I would like would be that she already tried this, but this inadvertently made him have a too normal life, he keeps being popular and finds someone else. I doubt it goes this way tho.

The issue with that is she NEEDS to insert herself back in his life. With Yae gone, yes one vector will be removed but from MC’s perspective his best friend died out of nowhere and he still needs to deal with his shitty family, plus there’s still the mastermind she’d have to deal with and it sounds like maybe she hasn’t sussed that person out yet. Just slipping in and geeking Yae won’t fix his life since it seems the universe itself is angling to break this poor boy.

Not spoilers BTW... Just my Opinion.

Butterfly effect it's very Complex, if she went back too much she could step on a cockroach and trigger a lifetime of different events that she would need to revisitlater if they also ended badly, going back as little as possible it's the best option.

Also We don't know if she's affected by the time travel, does she go back to her kid body? Does she remain in her teens? She probably takes the place of her "current" self in the past too but also if she goes to far back she would be useless and helpless for being just a child

And she could just take out each bully one by one, even before they affect the MC. His life becomes normal. You severely underestimate the power of rewinding time at will.

(This is not a cosmic horror Madoka-type scenario, it's literally just bullies.)

(Unless it is lol)

Sure. As a middle schooler in Japan, let's try to

1. Have enough funds to travel to an entirely different town and make it back
2. Have enough funds for equipment to specifically murder a guy
3. Find the perfect weekend where your schedule AND your target's schedule match up
4. Actually kill the guy
5. Go back home without getting caught
6. Do not get caught forever

But in all honesty there is no point in discussing this because the true reason is "it makes more of an interesting story".

Besides as others mentioned we dont know what extent her rewind powers are. If she could rewind to any point and any time of her life I think she wouldve done it. So far the story hints that she has a fixed point that she can rewind to, no more, no less.

AND THERE'S THE RUG PULL

When the manga starting feeling optimistic, i kind if had a feeling we were gonna get this. It having happened before was alluded to though. Little lines Yotsuba threw out were kind of the tells. Like calling the family a bunch of murderers, saying that something that was supposed to happen that day was averted, and so on.

We now get to see the story from a more neutral perspective. And find out what's going on for real.

Now we'll find out how the time travel works, I'm worried she has no checkpoints, so she'll be sent back to the beginning of the manga.

1 and 2. You can travel back in time at will, go buy scratch cards and save-scum until you have the money.
3. Any weekend works pretty much, I'll entertain that he needs to be outside his house for a second.
4. Easiest part, use one of those hunting slingshots. You have unlimited tries.
5 and 6. If cops ever get to your door, try again.

But in all honesty there is no point in discussing this because the true reason is "it makes more of an interesting story".
That'd mean the author was just lazy so let's not go there.

In honesty, I think it's just because she has some classic Batman-like moral code like "don't do harm"--even if it's to murderers.

As soon as Yae wasn't in the room either he was going to be out of the picture...
Or in this case Uichi :meguuusad:
Can't wait for what's next!
