Nevermind, vrats coping in comments. (I'm one of them )

So turns out that the red herring middle school "friend" wasn't such a red herring after all, which is a little disappointing. But I will continue to maintain faith that he is a different entity than Yotsuba (Clover).

The flashback to his promise not actually about being a vet, but about not making her cry, man :qq:

But seriously though, I know Yotsuha was trying to comfort Uichi, but that was just the dumbest thing to say. It's like if he rolled up to her one day after she got beat up all happy and cheerful, and was like "Oh yeah, that promise that you made to be happy? Lol it's fine, not like it really matters." It would completely obliterate her sense of self and reason for being...which is exactly what it did to Uichi. :slap:

Still though, a nice subversion to the whole "I killed Uichi, I can never be forgiven" hook. Unless the author pulls another doozy on us :shamihuh:

Chapter 36, page 15, there's a panel where the middle school bullies tell Rei that Uichi was on their side the whole time.
in chapter 36 page 15 I think you miss interpreted what it said being the Bullies became “Good Friends” part because it starts with Yotsuha thinking back to middle school and says that Uichi tried to stop the bullying towards Rei and when that all happened the bullies changed their target or added Uichi to the list of people to bully.

Dude, how the heck was she supposed to know that it'd cause him to commit suicide?? She had had her hands full with bullies of her own, a psychotic mom, and then enduring extensive physical therapy after she pushed herself for years until she collapsed.

She didn't have any time to check up on him, so of course she couldn't know of his hardships, ghe freakin' clover mastermind, etc, and she was sad and confused when she met him in that state and didn't have the rationale or time to make a logical decision since everything happened so quickly.
Like, she is just a teenager, what do you expect from her?

So as I said, it was really a combination of a series of unfortunate circumastances that resulted in the worst possible outcome.

I feel bad for both of them.

Probably not the mastermind, maybe another pawn of the true mastermind like the family were?
Still, if that watch ever works again - she has a new target, make sure his bullying goes the way of the Maria manga.

So
that's how it happened . ..

Oof, talk about the worst combination of Unfortunate circumstances...poor, POOR Uichi and Yotsuha.

And holy shit, it was the bullied guy??!! HE is the mastermind?!!

But, but why??!! Why would he ruin Uichi's life after he stood up for him against his tormentors??
It was kinda obvious since he was the only one left

Well whose to say Rei was bullied at all, Rei could have framed the whole scene so that Uichi would be tortured by Eito and co and kick off the killing Uichi plan. We also don’t know if Rei is THE Clover, another pawn, or maybe one of the people who make Clover if it is made by multiple people out for Uichi’s head, so he may not be the mastermind after all. I have a feeling the author will subvert expectations.
Yeah yeah, hey when the main heroine get sick and is on deaths bed just to be healed by the Clover/uichi tell me so I can laugh at this writer

Are we sure he’s the mastermind? Nothing here actually confirms that, just that he gave him a push here. Still think there is probably someone behind Rei as well.
I don't know, it seems very strange for you to message someone you haven't seen since middle school (that is, you don't know how they are mentally) and teach them how to commit suicide, but it seems a bit suspicious.
