It's been building up to this with the leader of Yuyu's group being mysterious and some people had already speculated he was Ciel's brother, and, ofc, last chapter that was actively confirmed and Yuyu was told he was planning something bad which is why she'd rushed back to the castle to tell Ciel which led to this.

I mean, to be fair last update was what, 6 months ago? So I can understand why someone else would think it's abandoned, especially if volume release might still take a while so we'll have no Golden Orchid release for a while

Normally I would also grab my torches and pitchforks but this time maybe it's a fair assumption it's dropped? At least I don't remember seeing anywhere saying Golden Orchid was waiting for volume release to continue, plus you know, 6 months :v

Well, normally when people are actually doing it in good faith they wait a few months so it won't be sniping, some say wait 3, 4, 5 or even 6 months before considering a series abandoned, so on that side the uploder is safe I guess

I guess the issue is that Golden Orchid is probably waiting for the volume version, and if yes how long it'll take for a new chapter to drop, if it's coming very soon I guess ideal would be wait for their version and do some other series

Normally this kind of drama happens with bad faith sniper doing series that is obviously abandoned, so I have to admit the 6 months gap makes me unsure on how to judge this situation

Without the knowledge we have now about Golden Orchid's intentions, this was considered abandoned/dropped, normally 3 months is given unless there communications about the long gap or the team is knowingly dead.

If someone from Golden Orchid posted an extra chapter with a unique numbering, like .999 that cannot be conflated with the actual manga, that has their intentions written, then this wouldn't be considered abandoned.
