This chapter gave me a trauma flashback, last year till last month, we had many problems with our refrigerators, even the new one.
And it was ALWAYS... at the weekends, so we had to wait till Monday for the repair guy to come.
Fortunately we have two, and most of the times it was only one that decided to stop working, so we could just transfer some things to the others, but... fuck man... what a hassle it was.
Oh, uh, late addition - if you want to be able to tell if your fridge/freezer lost power long enough for the frozen stuff to be in danger, fill up a small container with some water, put it in the freezer to freeze, and then put a coin on top of the ice. If you come back from a trip or something, check to see if the coin is still on top - if it's not, that means the ice melted and refroze.
