in my country, the standard is 350mL
but sometimes they can took more than that
also I'm B+ and I used to donate my blood regularly since I was in high school, tho I have less often to do it for last 3 years

In my country, a certain corrupt politician who runs a local red cross organization makes a big buck selling blood donated for free by volunteers from all across the country. Since then I stop donating blood and would only do so if it's a direct donor-to-recipient with no middleman making a buck in between.

I'm also type B (+) and I have been a blood donor at my local hospital for over a decade. 500 ml every three months here, I don't get paid but I get to choose a gift each time (donated by various companies). I choose a Moomin mug every time, they always have many of those. So now I have a decent collection with some limited editions.
Only about 8% have type B in my country, so there probably isn't that much demand for it. Maybe some goes to Eastern Europe where somewhere around 25% of the population have type B. I don't really care what they use it for, I see it as a kind of community service.
Also, I had quite a bit too much iron in my blood and blood donation has managed to reduce that to a safe level. Apparently the iron content makes my blood high quality, that's what the nurses say at least.

the rewards on my local red cross are usually snacks, but it also depending on branch location where you donate, but still mostly snacks with red blood suplement
