It's shown in prev chapter where she hunted some treasures based on the notes, so I assume she already read most part of the book

Huh isn't it easier to remember events and tidbids rather than a map? I couldn't even managed to remember the whole map of new neighborhood if I don't take a walk first.. it's even riskier in the forest esp if you never step on it in the first place

This manga does a lot of things right, but I get taken out of it a bit when she remembers stuff from the strategy guide with a convenient level of recall. I wish the author set it up early that our lovable MC has good memorization skills (possibly because of her work) so that my nitpicking brain lays to rest.

Or she just did the prudent/smart thing and researches what she’s about to do. As far as the cockatrice thing goes, that’s actually related to her career, so of course she’d remember that.
