why are people crashing out over this guy, he poses no threat at all. doubt it'll even be drama filled. like someone said he'll be a catalyst for her feelings towards Aoba.
and the guy is shooting his shot, this kind of thing sometimes happens. the on the spot confession is a common trope in manga. don't know how common it is in the USA but I've heard that kind of approach recommended where you walk up to someone you find attractive, introduce yourself and shoot your shot. no context needed and then if they find you attractive you go out and find out if y'all actually get along.
