Let's see here. This is my pure speculation.

Those highly advanced siege tech. Well, someone has been naughty and kept all the cool stuff. Well, apparently that's how Princess' kingdom fell as well. Roughly this mean at least 1 nation has highly advanced tech in possession in somewhat secret, and just now we see it in action. Is it from the Goddess of the Planet, or from someone else from the Galactic Empire crashed here long ago. We will have to find out later.

Alan is probably gonna be used to force his Fortress to surrender. They might recognize he has advanced tech as well, and would rather capture em intact instead of destroying em.

We could say Alan was caught off guard as he didn't anticipate other force using high-tech like him.

He's always been carried by Nanom/support from Iris, both of which were countered when he got captured (the drones lost sight of him, the lady knew how to fight against Nanom's motion patterns)

Nah, these guys are walking into a trap.

The good ol let them think they're winning (the outer wall was made to hide the high tech inner wall anyway) then spring the trap on them.

Of course Alan gets bodied when up against an actual combat soldier of an equivalent tech level, since he’s a chuuni maintenance technician who was blowing through the locals while depending on hot-keyed macros. He even admitted to being just a chuuni back in Chapter 3.

I think the pacing is fine, but the existence of advanced technology on the planet, and of an existence that is not only able to do things that the Galactic Empire considered impossible, as well as out-hacking Iris, were all part of the original novel. People seem to forget about how the Goddess hacked Alan’s onboard cybernetics and covered her tracks so that Iris couldn’t find anything in the logs, let alone that Alan isn’t a combat soldier. He didn’t even have Imperial melee combat training (aside from the basics), and copied it all from video games.

The novel is still on hiatus as the author is assisting with this, the manga. However the team supporting him eg. The artist have taken the reins with his direction
