Honestly some part of me still consider the ' this is actually far, far in the past, and bugs are actually from this planet looking to get latest empire tech in hope of curing Alan' twist take on 40k God Emperor

Like imagine if eventually Alan just stop waking up but is still alive, the starvek empire conquer the whole planet then the story shift with Cleria and Iris slowly drifting apart in their approach to save him.
Iris try to cultivate human race in different environments in hope that some will develop into gaining resistance/immunity to Alan's 'cancer'
Cleria fall in with the 'goddess' and send out people turned bugs to seek out the not-cancered samples of galactic empire's DNA as well as new machine parts to replace the aging ones on starvek.

I feel like the best option here is to grow a transplantable liver from an uncontaminated DNA sample and swap it out with his current one while doing the nanomachine dialysis or whatever you want to call it.

Surgically removing the mutated nano plant from the liver, or even the entire liver and replacing it, is out of the question. they must use ways that will take time to develop and enrich the plot.

This gets asked alot but it always boils down to
1 - Cloning is against Galactic Empire law and Alan forbid his subordinates from using it after he learned about the clone girls.
2 - there's been no evidence that their medical technology is advanced enough to do brain transplants even if they had another body.
