重量挙げ is a more narrow term, generally referring to specifically Olympic weightlifting, rather than the general activity of lifting any type of weights. I'm not an expert on the terminology though, and I figured the drawing would be enough to differentiate the two.
Ah that makes sense, so in the raw Leonora (erroneously) referred to it as a Olympic weightlifting and the drawing does show a snatch, hence the correction. Thanks!

Poor naked handstands, the dream got crushed before it had a chance! People may say "At least she's going to join the muscle club instead!" And I say "What instead?! We could have had both!"

For more info: Olympic weightlifting is just weightlifting at the olympics (just like olympic boxing is just boxing at the olympics). Although its so synonymous that a lot of lifters do call it olympic weightlifting or they might even just say "I lift oly"

As a sport, weightlifting is snatch and clean & jerk. There are non-olympic weightlifting events like the IWF world championship.

Benchpress is a powerlifting lift (deadlift, squat, benchpress)

she is right, it's a bench press.
outside of that, I can see someone who embodies martial arts joining in. I can live without the naked handstand, but I want to have a shot of them flexing and posing instead.
