That momster was really one you should farm out... as it says tare but it appears continuous times.... still the past self is much of an arrogant person... you can just go with that... effectiveness is the best way to progress....

So on Chapter 1 they established that Scope was developed just before he went back in time and showed how strong his magic was and his aptitudes. Then this child shows up and uses scope 60 years in the past to see how strong he is.

The nature of his time magic is really nonsensical. He seems to have transferred all his memories, but he's acting like his old self is completely separate from himself, which doesn't really make sense (because from his perspective, isn't that just him?). He keeps whining that he is going down the same route and he'll be a failure even though he specifically already knows what went wrong in his past life (he specialized in red/fire magic which he had low potential in) and thus should know how to correct himself. He also has more time to do things right because he's starting earlier and he knows more about magic than anyone his age should. And why is he acting like partying with the girl will somehow stunt his magic development? What sense does that make? Since he possesses expert future knowledge, becoming a top-tier mage should be easy, so why wouldn't he try to just enjoy himself while doing it?

I guess I just feel like it's a really false dilemma being put up here when we should be seeing him doing well.

Also, how the fuck did he use time magic as a red magic specialist?

Why can other people see his stat potential? How could he NOT have known about it if this girl could see his star maxes????? Doesn’t make much sense to me lol

Also, I think that the past self future self thing is just his mental psyche. In chapter 1 he said he got his past self overwritten by his future self, so it’s safe to assume that what’s really happening is different parts of his head saying different things, not two entirely different Zeffs duking it out psychologically. How he was able to use time magic, though, really makes no sense at all lol

I thought his future self rewrote the construct his teenage personality?

I guess the magic is more like adding new data, which kept two personalities, and that is probably why the future knowledge is still there even after the older self was left behind. But, behind this decision, I really like how it reflects the aspirations of mages, who constantly seek knowledge at all costs, even submitting you're own self to the past.

i thought the status thing was a new thing on chapter 1, which is how the council found out his low talent for Red magic..but this girl simply used it on him in front of the church??

Thanks for the chapter!
Wonder if Milly is a reincarnator too? Would explain how she'd been able to use that Scout Scope spell that showed his name and abilities despite not having been around until MC was an old man and her wish to be stronger despite being treated as a kid. Although surprised gate could keep a King of Death on the church grounds (which should've weakened or killed the other undead being consecrated ground unless whatever caused church to be abandoned deconsecrated the ground,) instead of pursuing the MC and Milly. In any case MC seems to have chosen to take a different road through his 2nd life in comparison to his 1st life. Although if he plans on being a top class Red Magic mage he should really practice using it more than the black void magic as with any talent, skill, or art one must practice, practice, practice to master it.

Great, he's gone crazy. Is he going to keep up with this "i'm not myself" and "my own plan thought up by my current self is wrong because it's my current selfs plan, not my current selfs" nonsense.

does this manga not know it's own story??? His "future self" didn't travel back in time and give a plan to his "younger self", his "future self" went back in time and REPLACED his "younger self", there is only one person, himself, he IS the "future self", what the fuck author? It's only the second chapter and you already forgot the basis of your own story???

From the other comments apparently the stat thing thats only newly discovered in the future is also perfectly normal in the past, so I guess the author DID somehow completely forget the very basis of their own story, what the fuck?

I don't get why people are complaining. He's not literally talking to his old self. It's just a way of dramatizing his internal conflict.

Instead of having this internal road struggle for what amounts to half a chapter. The author should have made it to on for 5 chapters and then get to this chapter.

oh man... it's only the 2nd chapter and there so many things I don't like about this manga already... the internal dialogue is interesting but what he's conflicting about doesn't really sit well with the story when he knows what to do already and CHOSE to reverse back time so that he could do it more efficiently... SO WHAT WAS THE PLAN IN GOING BACK IN TIME?? He knows red magic isn't his forte and there is way more potential in the other magic attributes. Then there's the question of why does he know time traveling magic and how is he able to cast it when he's only specialized in red magic which doesn't seem to be related to time-space type of magic. Then there's conflict of interest from his reason to travel back in time with why he's joining the girl, wasn't his goal and intense desire to master magic again and gain a title at his best magic attribute type and research?? How is joining a little girl's made up guild going to lead him to any advancement in his struggles to mastering magic or finding the most efficient path to mastering magic?? It's almost as if the girl character was forced into the story for some "plot"... I have nothing against that since the reason he gave was that he wanted to adventure, which also has nothing to do with what he desired or voiced during his regrets, but it really doesn't connect well to the 1st chapter. Then there's the issue related to his struggles where it hasn't even been that long since he went back in time to understand or perceive that he's struggling or hit a wall in his training to master magic yet but somehow already struggles?? There's like no time to see the fruition of his training or feel the effort in trying to reach his goals. It might've been wiser to just skip chapter 1 and start from chapter 2 without any of his past/future context because they feel like 2 different stories which sadly doesn't well together but feels more like an excuse for the story to carry on and not the reason the story moves.
