From what I remember other people saying, what was skipped was the flashforwards focusing on the human hero party ~15 years in the future. Remember the anime? Yeah, all the human scenes in the future were skipped.

I personally like the way the manga is making things more streamlined in terms of timeline. Some people said that the lightnovel didn't connected the two timelines well near the end, leaving a lot of plot points unanswered and having a really meh ending. I never read the LNs, so all I can say for certain is that I hope the mangaka is doing this streamline in a way that will at least lessen the LN's shortcomings. The Arachne at least is way better designed here in my opinion, so that's sure a win in my book.

the rpg part of this manga was cool, everything since then has been who the hell are these characters, what are their motives, what are the rules...
didn't they time skip years of mc traveling, and im supposed to believe that after moderate character growth in the weeks/months of leveling up but talking to no one, she has zero character growth for years of traveling with people? that's utterly implausible and awful writing

also youd think changing into a cute girl would be a payoff moment but she looks so much less engaged that she was cuter as a spider
