Isekai, thats how it works . The only way in this reality to get huge spiders is if the atmosphere was thicc (looks at earth 300million years ago)

@BloodySorcerer

Wrath got his original human body back when he evolved into an oni, so he looks just like a high schooler with horns on his forehead. It's understandable that he's kinda small. He was a huge 4 meter tall ogre before that, though.

@Francis Yeah, I recognize her. The "out of nowhere" part was more directed towards the general situation, not the whole manga. Also, it's the first time for our MC to meet her so it's kinda out of nowhere from her point of view.

@Taima I try to stay spoiler free, so I won't view it, but thanks for a probable explanation, I assume.

@Kampfarsch That's a little bit of a strawman argument, 'cause I never said that. I'm all for utilizing established skills to overcome the given challenges, but isn't "wall of all the skills which can potentially solve the challenge" and "just straight up new skill out of nowhere" both bad? For my taste a limited amount of skills to solve the problem is what makes the problem solving part more interesting. An overwhelming abundance of skills just makes it less interesting to me.

The only difference is that Demon Lord jump-dropped instead of running at supersonic speed (which is way cooler btw).

That's the way we live, my friend. Waiting 20 days to a month just to read 15 pages about a schiolgirl who got zapped into another world as a spider.
It's a fun way to die, really.

@Frozeneye Then honestly go read the LN instead. Then these "out of nowhere" situations is less apparent because there's more of a continuation/explanation. And you don't have these big "visual-impact" skill lists.

You have to take it into context, a lot of people who read the manga in Japan have already read the novels, so they're essentially re-reading it. If it's not visually and contextually impactful, what's the point? And anyone else who hasn't bothered to read the novels isn't likely reading this for the plot over the impact.

A lot of the comments here are kind of representative of how differently we consume this series tbh. The vast majority of people who read the novels before read the WN, not the LN. Because bootlegging the WN to fan translate is way easier. And those who didn't read anything at all, this scanlation is your cheapest, most convenient way to read the series. While in Japan, chapter for chapter, it's way cheaper and much faster to get the LN.

Ariel dialogue translated to Human
*Ariel Lands*
"Found it"
"Hi there. I'm your Grandma"
"Sorry to ask this right off the bat, but could you stop attacking the queen now, please?"
*Kumo shake her head*
"I see. I suppose I have no choice then"
"Well, that was a short-lived relationship. Good-bye"
*Kumoko is destroyed*

So this was another fight Kumoko herself got in without knowing (lol)

@DLRevan Interesting point of view. Haven't looked at it that way yet.
It's a little short sighted though, because with the incoming anime and the fact that manga is released in other countries, but not the LN, the manga/anime is/will be the first time for many others to consume the story.

Me and a buddy of mine collect the manga whenever the volumes arrive in our country. And my buddy only reads the manga for example.

EDIT: sorry if any of this makes less sense. You explained more after your edit.

Simple, I read the wn so pacing may be different in the novel, but lets take this as base value.
If I imagine what would be in a manga chapter, and then I chop the manga in 2 or 3 parts for a chapter, it would be the better part of 6 months of literally nothing happening, and there would be no manga going forward.

I love these little parts of the story, but if the story is chopped in 2-3 parts a chapter they would be hellish to read while its new.

If you want an example from a manga thats not butchered to hell and back, look at berserks first 3 volumes.
They went hard and fast for the first 3 volumes to get people invested, so when they went and did the slower aspects those people would still be well invested, and that was a non burchard monthly manga. now imagine the first few chapters of the golden age arc cut into 1/3 or 1/6ths (berserk chapters were a bit long) and space that out over months and tell me if thats something, even if you were well invested, you would put up with.
