Official light novels, I'm quite sure this is the beginning to middle of Vol.3? (dunno, since English version isnt out until 17/7)
Vol. 2 cover up to manga chapter 23, where she gets the demon lord title/skill
WN: I'd say around 120.

For reading, I'd start at the beginning, either the official novel or blastron's WN TL,
since there are a few side stories that the manga doesn't cover, but is vital if you are reading the novels.

Bookwalker has the novels for only 8usd each, and you can probably get some kind of discount code on it.
I bought both volumes physically because of awesome fold out art: https://i.imgur.com/Fz9OkEf.jpg

@igloo15 I'd say starting from the beginning would be best if you are willing to put the time into it There are a number of differences between the WN and the manga (which seems to follow the LN), and though they aren't too big of a deal if you choose to go with the WN you might at least have fun spotting the differences. This chapter of the manga more or less covered the events of chapter 120-124, with only irrelevant differences (outside of the bits at the beginnings of 121 and 124), so you could start at chapter 125 of the WN and really not miss much. However even if you do skip to where the manga is at I would still recommend reading the side chapters. The Great War chapters especially are a must read though all of the side chapters are worth your time even if just for the extra world building and later relevance to the plot.

@Chrisis sadly Blastron's work only goes up to chapter 122 and he said he's done translating Kumo so anyone who wants to read ahead in the WN will have to make do with Turbo's translations. I agree though that anyone starting at the beginning should go with Blastron's.

@Aricitic: Yeah, I know that (I'm caught up with the raw LN, and working my way through the Past Arc in the WN). But in general the side stories offer much-needed world building at the points in the story they're placed at. Delaying them partially defeats the purpose of including them really, and having a whole run of a year's worth of chapters featuring no spiders kind of goes against the title...

@Chrisis: You're right! This covered all of vol 3 ch 6 (in broad strokes, of course), which puts this at around the 40% mark of the book.

fatalystic, oh, absolutely it would defest the purpose... But when has that stopped people from messing with the makeup of stories before?
To me it seems more likely (or intelligent anyway) to release the side stories as side stories, much like "Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon," and "... On the side." But this STILL wouldn't make sense since they are building blocks of the same story and not simply additional world building stories on the side...

Why would any animal keep on attacking a somewhat small spider when it already killed dozens of your mates, first the wasps, then the monkeys......

@Tormval: There's a reason for it, which SHOULD have been revealed by now but hasn't since the side stories have been skipped.

Well, in the case of the monkeys it's because of the "Revenge" skill they all have. It marks anyone who kills one of them, and all members of that individual monkey's tribe will attack the killer until either the killer dies, or the tribe is wiped out. The skill renders them completely incapable of rational thought with regards to whether they should be attacking.

@Tormval, fatalystic For the particular reasons of the wasps and monkeys it was explained, or at least hinted at, in the manga though. As fatalystic stated the monkeys have a skill that marks someone who kills one of them, which you could kinda see with the way the first one she killed acted. For the wasps they only started swarming her when she far enough into their territory for them to consider her a threat, and its pretty normal behavior for wasps to swarm things that threaten the hive.

Aaaaaah, now I need to wait a whole month for this. Is she going to kill and eat them? Also, I still can't get the idea of her real size. How big is she?

she's a bit bigger than a human, I think, we already got comparison in earlier chapters back when she didn't have any evolutions yet and that dude stole her egg

When there's a perfectly good pair of human legs on the cover and you find the spider more appealing, you know you've fallen too far down the rabbit hole...

You've been dropped into the middle of a maze, get out. Nope, nope, Oh you've found a hole it leads down, really really really far down, but it's ok because you're still just trying to get out of the maze. I don't want to sound mean but the point is she's trying to get out which is why she's mapping it out. She also just got through a life and death crisis so she's relaxing a bit.

I hope we get to see how Kumo-chan looks from the humans' perspective next chapter. Considering her fear aura, no way are they gonna see her as the cute little spider she is!
