@Regius It was not my intention to criticize the manga lol. Just genuinely curious whether a large chunk of the story, or the whole of it, will take place inside the labyrinth with the MC trying to find her way out. I will admit that I do find the setting to be boring since it doesn't really provide for a pretty background (among other things), but I'm also really interested in seeing how she'll adapt to the outside world. However, it seems to me that the labyrinth is integral to the story, so she'll probably be staying there for a long while. Hope I'm wrong, though.

@aremem Some (relatively) mild spoilers incoming to answer your question:

The labyrinth really only takes up what you might consider act 1 of the overarching story, and the time she gets out isn't too far down the road. If the adaptation follows the WN closely theres a couple confrontations, a major event, and one big fight left to go before she exits. The labyrinth is certainly important but its not really integral to the story as a whole, more of a starting point. The labyrinth is a little like the main storyline in an MMO. it's nice and all but the real game starts once you hit max level and can start on end game content. Also if the adaptation included the side stories you'd have seen a lot more of the outside world by now and it wouldn't seem like the whole story was just going to be the labyrinth.

The adaptation is going to follow the LN for sure, because it adapted the egg chapter which wasn't in the WN.

@NOUN If you are reading the web novel then yeah there are gonna be a number of side chapters from different perspectives. The S series is from the perspective of Shun, another reincarnator, but there are plenty of other chapters from other perspectives as well. Although it will be a while until you know how they link up with the main story I would still recommend giving them a read. They can provide useful information about the world, show events that will become important to the main story later, and some are just a good read. I'm particularly fond of the great war chapters.

i already read them and catch upd with the newest update. yeah, it's confusing at first since each of it come of in a different timeline while we following kumoko pov, but eventually it will dissolved into the main timeline and will make sense later. so it's hard to understand at first.

Knowing how she turns out, purely from the second volume of the light novel (which we have surpassed), this chapter was more depressing to me than it otherwise would have been.
If I didn't have faith that I knew WHY she turns out how she does (and what her intentions are) I would have been forced to drop this with the final (side) chapter of the light novel...
But, I won't provide any spoilers, 'tis up to all of you to read and judge yourself.

On a side, anyone know when the next volume is supposed to come out in the U.S.? Wiki for other light novel based works show the books and their ISBN and release date, but the Wiki for this is... Lacking.

I think, unfortunately, that I'm not going to like the direction that this manga takes in the future from everything that I'm hearing.

What drew me into the manga was her personality as well as uphill battle against the awful odds she finds herself in time and again and the fact that she is a literal spider and not some lady who is a "spider" If the direction this goes pushes it down a darker path and she starts to resemble Ainz Ool Gown who is literally the least interesting character in his own manga, I'll be really disappointed.
