Oh this is seriously bugging me. How many romcom leads keep forgetting their birthday.

Its the one day either you or close people celebrate. Its like the one day you'd always remember as being special at least for yourself.

Like ...I'm not the only one who thinks this trope is weird right?

I personally dont know what day my birthday is unless I go dig up my license. Big family with lots of cousins so we'd just have monthly birthday parties for everyone with a birthday that month.

The only reason I remember when my birthday is, is because it always annoys me. It's a normal day like any other for me, and I just want some peace, not everyone to keep bothering me about it.

The Cat is the best character in this manga.

Seriously? Don't take this the wrong way, but that makes me feel a bit sad.

This better not turn out to be a wet fart

I'm expecting REAL CONNECTION on the date, or else I'm going to mail the mangaka a dead bird

Hmm, not a Blush in sight on our Heroine. Instead only on the MC. Hmm
Page 8 and 10 she’s clearly blushing, plus she’s clearly nervous/embarassed/shy all chapter. This is why you’ve never held hands with a girl.

"Oh, right, today is my birthday, I didn't remember" is a trope I can't see as something realistic till your thirties
It would be more normal if the character didn't care about his birthday or didn't celebrate it. But unless you're so busy in life that you don't even notice the passage of days and you also doesn't have a calendar i think it's kinda impossible to not remember your birthday at all.

Tbf, he probably knows his birthday is tomorrow, but he never told anyone it is. So his answer being national holiday does make sense.

The older you get the more you realize a birthday isn't really some big celebration like how it's made out to be when you're young.

Some adults just choose to forget about it because it's just another day to them.
