That would be the case if they actually knew those collars control the dragons. I get that there’s exposition in the form of their thought bubbles, but that’s for the readers, not the protagonist to know.

weren't the collar kinda explained before...? or maybe I'm confusing the detail with another story...

but him being an isekai'ed person or well, the established knowledge in that world that slavery or mind control magic exist, couldn't he just theorized and try it out and destroy a collar to see what happens?

well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens after. but I still think in that situation it's smart to take the chance (if you get one) to destroy a suspicious collar on a slaved animal. at worst, they die, at best, they turn feral or on their slaver...

Aww, I expected that ice wall would turn out to be the super-evolved slime. I kinda miss it.
But it was quite fun seeing Jeral command minigun-golems and tanking a dragon. I really hope he will get a proper fight next chapter and it would be great if there was some "menacingly walking out of fire breath attacks without a scratch with one laser eye" scene.
