Here is my breakdown and theory from chapter 1 up to the latest chapter:

In the beginning, Luna was likely using hookup apps and already had an active casual partner she’d been seeing for a couple of months. That neatly explains the opened condom wrappers, the moaning sounds, and the scene where she was kissing someone early on—that was almost certainly FWB #1.

In Chapter 9, they had a complete falling out. When the MC got sick, she canceled her plans with FWB #1 to go take care of him. Even though she offered to make it up to him later, FWB #1 got pissed and told her to ignore the MC and come entertain him instead. Luna reminded him that they’ve only known each other for a few months, lost her temper, cursed him out, told him to never contact her again, and blocked him. That was the end of FWB #1.

After that chapter, there are zero scenes implying that anyone touched her. Any moaning sounds from that point forward were strictly from her masturbating.

Then around Chapters 15–17, Ryuji (her former part-time coworker) mentions past rumors from 2–5 years ago claiming she was promiscuous and slept around with guys.

After that, nothing suspicious happens until the current arc. Because FWB #1 was cut off and her libido is exceptionally high, she eventually relapsed and went back to the hookup apps to find a replacement—which the MC catches onto.

Prediction for the next chapter: I suspect the person showing up at her door is FWB #1. On the final page of the latest chapter, it looks like she is heading to the door to meet someone, likely FWB #1 coming over to make up, confront her, or try to reconnect.

Everything lines up and makes complete sense this way.

P.S. 1: FWB #1 probably hooked up with her at her apartment often in the past, so it wouldn't be surprising at all if he knows her address and shows up right at her front door.

P.S. 2: She is clearly very experienced and had plenty of casual partners beforehand, which is almost certainly where those workplace rumors came from in the first place.

The problem is that Luna isn't going to the front door, she's just going into one of the other rooms and nothing even suggests there is someone at the front door.

Yeah, she's going into the living room. Looking from the front door, the toilet and bath are on the left side of the hallway, and his room is on the other side. Nao's coming out of his room and sees her entering the living room, where her room is also located.

I read the first chapter again and noticed that in addition to her moaning, there's a lot of bed creaking [ギッ, ギツッ] and skin slapping [ぱんっ, ぱちゅ, ぱちゅん] sounds. Especially the latter you usually only see for certain... intense activities.

So yeah, the signs were there since chapter 1.

Fair enough, I might end up being wrong about the next chapter, but what do you guys think about the rest of my breakdown so far?

Exactly, it was hinting at it all along, and I'm pretty sure she was definitely fucking FWB #1 back then.

I'm personally still of the mind that alot of this stuff is still the author just baiting and I will maintain that mindset until we get something cleanly definitive like for example, Luna clearly saying she had sex with someone else and not something that can still be vague like her saying she's just clearing her sexual desires or Naoto literally walking in on her having sex with someone.

The things like the bed creaking and skin slapping can still just be her masturbating and getting freaky and I recall awhile ago people viewed that kiss in the doorway as Luna kissing a picture of Naoto, call it coping if you want but the author left all of this open, we have not actually seen any of Luna's sexual partners (if they even exist) and the only other male besides Naoto that Luna has interacted with is Ryuji who despite getting an NTR bait introduction turned out to be a massive softie and of course everytime we've seen Luna get sexual with another man we only see it in the confines of Naoto's thoughts.

Considering the negative feedback author has gotten lately there's only three things they can do:

1. Course correct and cut down on the bait moments

2. Lash out and actually cross the boundary

3. Maintain the course with the bait moments without making it clear until the series gets axed or all of Luna's secrets come out and then have Luna and Naoto have sex then end the series (assuming Luna and Naoto don't have sex next chapter)

Going back to Luna and Naoto, it's also still possible they aren't on the same page, Naoto is operating under the belief that Luna has had sex with someone else and wants to redirect that passion to him, he didn't explicitly say he wants to fuck and Luna only said she was going to help him with his sexual desires, so again, as dumb as it is, author is still leaving things open to reveal that Luna never had sex at the hotel.

Like I've said before, even if people here keep making all the grapara mentions, the axe mentions and talk hard about NTR, I still believe this author isn't going to do NTR, if they do they'll have to commit to NTR in any future story they do and it's certainly going to affect their reputation and despite everything that's happened I still trust in the story they're telling even if recent moments have been silly.

In that case, guess we'll just have to wait for future chapters to reveal the truth. But personally, I'm sticking to my interpretation because it makes the most sense based on all the clues the story has given us so far. :haa:

The thing is any of these clues can make sense based on what you believe in, it's like what Naoto is thinking, he's come to the conclusion that Luna did go to the hotel to have sex.

Bro, what the fuck even is this thread?

Like, I get it, the in story evidence is hard pointing to the whole slut thing, but it's seeing a bunch of children learning a new word and are just running around screaming "SLUT SLUT!!! NTR NTR!!!".

This shit really just looks like Atsushi capitalizing on Grapara and putting his crossover audience on edge with heavy bait. Like, I could be wrong with the timing, but didn't this arc start right around the same time Katsura, or whatever the fuck her name is, hard committed and got that shit axed?

Details of the profiles on her phone screen:

Profile 1: てるあき (Teruaki), 港区 (Minato), 31. Tag: 大人の出会い (Adult Encounters). Bio: 夜空いてます (“free tonight”). Match: 68%.

Profile 2: ジン (Jin), 新宿区 (Shinjuku), 29. Tag: 大人の出会い (Adult Encounters). Bio: 楽しい夜を過ごしたい (“want to spend a fun night”). Match: 70%.

Profile 3 is partly hidden by her finger. It looks like a user whose name starts with ダ, age 27, and the bio seems to include すぐ (“right away”). Profile 4 is age 30.

About the tag: 「大人の出会い」 is commonly used on Japanese dating apps for casual, physically oriented meetups, which is why I find it a specific choice.

Uh, dude, take another look at that page again, there's 4 "matches" on the screen, the last one just straight up having no visible text. You have to tap the notification to go it's page. Those aren't her matches, that shit looks like it's one of the pages on the app. Looks like some hard bait.

Plus that stuff looks like it's a part of their profile and what they are looking for, not what the other person is looking for.

Also saying 大人の出会い is about casual sex is just projecting outcome bias, that shit is also used when you're talking about looking for a mature partner (dating, marriage), or literally an adult friend (drinking buddy and shit). This is pretty common for people in their mid to late 20s looking for a serious relationship, or just lonely people.

Fun fact, using a matching app for casual hook ups is a great way to get perma banned from the app, they look down on that kind of shit really badly and some of them even require you to register with you ID.

The problem is that Luna isn't going to the front door, she's just going into one of the other rooms and nothing even suggests there is someone at the front door.

Yeah, that ain't the front door, if you look down, you don't see the little entrance nook for shoes and slippers.

All in all, logically speaking, this has got to be bait, otherwise Atsushi is actually stupid and this is 100% getting cancelled. There's no way the guy isn't aware of the nuclear level fallout from grapara and turned around and said "I bet I can do that and make it work". Even if he set it up for Naoto to accept Luna no matter what, that shit doesn't matter, because the fans won't and that's what actually matters.

It's good to see a rational poster back in these threads, too many people going around and misusing NTR.

I've been saying all along that the author is just going close to the line with the bait, I seriosuly doubt we're going to get anything serious.

If the author wanted to dip into NTR then Luna's sex friends or whatever you want to call them would have been shown from the start but instead, it's left pretty unclear what Luna is actually doing, likewise you got Ryuji and it would have been pretty easy for him to fuck Luna at the Karaoke while Naoto was trapped by Ryuji's sister IF the author even wanted to do that.

That's why I think people need to stop jumping the gun and having kneejerk reactions and just wait for something definitive to happen.

It would just be straight up career suicide. Which if that's what Atsushi is going for, that shit is going to follow him for the rest of his career and his name is going to get attached to Grapara and Katsura by proximity.

I'mma be honest though, I feel like I'm seeing some of this shit completely differently for almost everyone. The way I'm seeing it is that this chick gets off being treated properly and she started using Naoto as fap material after they got back from the beach and he started doing things and treating her like a woman and flipped her switch. It's like she just uses dudes for some kind of affirmation and it gets her off.

Like, I'm surprised her surname didn't stir up some shit because it gives an indication that she might be from a traditional family that has something to do with textiles or fashion type stuff. So instead of her father going to get a pack of smokes and milk, he was just straight up not around much because of business trips and shit like that. Her mother probably forced her into some stupid ass "yamato nadeshiko" type shit, which is why she was all prim and proper, and restricted her freedom and when she was able go to the countryside, she got her first taste of freedom and when she got caught acting like a normal ass kid, she got it taken away and her at home situation got even worse.

Huh, after looking back at the app in chapter 24, it's actually pretty damming.

This also apparently got hit with massive waves of unfollows on comic fronts and stores.

I guess the only way Atsushi can try to save this is if he dives into the fantasy shit and hopes it sticks enough to win back enough readers to save it from cancellation.

Call me stubborn, but I did a bit of research.

The app Luna is using exists IRL and is called "Happy Mail" 「ハッピーメール」. It's one of Japan's oldest and biggest dating apps/websites.

Happy Mail's matching feature is broadly divided into two categories: “Pure Recruitment” 「ピュア募集」 and “Other Recruitment” 「その他募集」.

The "Pure" category is for finding friends or romantic partners, and adult content or expressions are prohibited. The "Other" category on the other hand is for those seeking adult relationships or more private, intimate connections.

「大人の出会い」is a real subcategory of the 「その他募集」 category, which is described as 「大人の付き合いなど刺激的な出会い向き」-> "Suitable for exciting encounters, such as adult relationships".

Since you need an account to see all this on their website, I've used the review platform Appliv's guide to get this info.
Here's the link to their guide in Japanese. The relevant passage is this:

What Is “Recruitment” (募集)?

“Recruitment” is a feature that allows users to post requests for people to exchange messages or phone calls with, with the aim of meeting new people.

There are two types of recruitment posts: “Pure Recruitment” and “Other Recruitment.” Adult-related posts are prohibited in “Pure Recruitment,” while “Other Recruitment” allows posts that include adult content.

However, as explained in more detail below, posts containing adult content are not permitted in the “Other Recruitment” section of the app version.

  • Pure Recruitment: Suitable for serious connections, such as making friends or finding a romantic partner.
  • Other Recruitment: Suitable for more exciting encounters, such as adult relationships.
To find people who match your intentions, it is important to understand the differences between these two categories.

Features and User Demographics of “Pure Recruitment“

Pure Recruitment is a bulletin board used by people seeking serious romantic relationships or new friendships. Adult content is strictly prohibited, and the platform is intended for people looking for wholesome, non-adult connections.

In addition to finding romantic partners, users can use it to meet people who share their hobbies or find companions for dining out. Most users appear to be in their 20s to 40s, with men and women in their early 30s being particularly prominent.

Common posts include messages such as “Looking for someone who enjoys watching movies” and “Would anyone like to explore cafés together?” Since many users are seeking serious relationships, their messages tend to come across as polite, thoughtful, and sincere.

The Pure Recruitment bulletin board provides a comfortable environment for beginners and people who are not familiar with dating platforms to use with confidence.

Features and User Demographics of “Other Recruitment“

Other Recruitment is a bulletin board where users can post requests for adult relationships or more exciting encounters. This feature is available exclusively on the web version, where posts containing adult-oriented language are permitted.

Compared with the Pure Recruitment bulletin board, this category allows greater freedom in post content, enabling users to seek partners using more direct language. Users are predominantly men and women aged 30 and older, and the encounters generally involve experienced adults.

Make of this what you will, but at least we can rule out the friendly massage now, can't we?

Could just be a severe case of the Newhart Phonecall trope. Wouldn't be the only time Atsushi has used this. He also used it on Luna's literal phone call and her conversation with the mystery nibba at the front door. I don't assume she's schizophrenic, but is talking to a real person whom she also kissed. Occam's Razor and all.

Chapter 27 will have to do some heavy lifting for sure, if Atsushi doesn't intend to go the Grapara route.

Still gonna to point out that the actual app looks nothing like the manga version and Atsushi intentionally used the name because he knew that shit was going to immediately get the kind of reaction he was fishing for. When you use an app that's name is infamous for casual sex and papakatsu, you're doing it on purpose.

'Cept he heard her porn over her phone when he caught her. Kind of makes it hard to believe.

We still need to finish off chapter 26 first, this was only .1.

I have a hard time believing that Atsushi doesn't have a way planned out of this. There's no fucking way an editor would let this shit fly with one of their top rated series. Like, fucked if I know what it is, but letting it tank would be stupid, especially with the english release coming up soon. Going Grapara would mean both the editor and Atsushi are fucking reta...... stupid

Going Grapara would mean both the editor and Atsushi are fucking reta...... stupid
I still think the conclusion I wrote is the most likely outcome. Don't you think so? It just ties everything together and resolves all the loose ends so cleanly

And besides, after being on a hookup app, why else would she be waiting at a hotel? Isn't it pretty damn obvious?

The only problem with all of that is that this series is 100% toast if that's the case. Like, the fanbase will tear this shit apart and go nuclear on Atsushi and probably Kadokawa too. I can't imagine someone going out of their way to get sent death threats and other nasty shit. Fucking with vanilla rom-com fans with infidelity tropes is the same as jumping in a shark tank covered in big juicy steaks, you're fucked if you do it.

I'm on the hard bait side because it makes the most sense from a publishing stand point, and I actually want to see this shit continue. If it goes hard into the fuckery, then it basically a case of fuck around and find out I guess.

But this is different from Grapara, though. The MC and FMC aren't even dating yet, they just like each other. So even if she's looking for a hookup, it's technically not cheating or unfaithful

Or even if she really is a slut right now, she's not technically in the wrong because at the end of the day, she and the MC aren't even a couple yet.

Yeah, they don't care and I'm not kidding. Don't try and measure this shit by western standards, the Japanese side sees this as complete betrayal, which is why we're seeing all of the nasty shit they're saying on a bunch of boards and reader falloff. They don't like, they don't want it and they will kill it without mercy if it follows through with infidelity and parade it's corpse through the streets.

Then how the hell is the author supposed to write his way out of this? It honestly looks like a dead end, and there's no way out that looks cleaner than her just being a slut.

The manga industry can be cut throat, if you're ratings fall, you're ass is toast. Most of it is fuelled by reader surveys and book sales, if readers tank the surveys and you see massive book preorder cancellations you're heading for the gallows.

And this is the problem, her being a slut looks like the solution, but her being a slut is actually the series killing problem. Atsushi kept up the idea that she isn't actually a slut the entire time, but if it was actually just an illusion, the readers take it as a complete fucking betrayal.

I ain't sure how he plans on pulling his ass out of the fire to fix this, but this is why I see mostly everything as bait, because going full retar send = death. Kinda why I'm half expecting that the guy already has the solution prepared, that or an apology and a cancellation announcement.
