Akiyoshi, you've literally already gone out with Lemon and found out that it didn't work and was putting too much pressure on her. (Though I don't remember if Lemon has told anyone the latter...) There's no good reason to think that it will be substantially different this time.

Like, even if they do get together, I can't imagine it working out better. There's nothing indicating that Lemon has grown out of her old mindset of acting inauthentic so as to become more likable. (And this chapter seems to remind us that she still is, in fact, popular!) So doesn't that mean she'd just do the same thing she did last time? She tries to hard to be a "girlfriend" that she ruins what made her comfortable with their relationship in the first place (that she could just be herself) and builds up so much stress that she has to "explode."

She'd probably be more mature about it all, considering the fact that she's an adult now, but there's been no indication that she's not going to just follow this same basic rollercoaster if she goes out with him again.

Usually I'd already expect the blonde girl to win in these type of series despite rooting for the dark haired girl-next-door character but this is the one time I really hope he ends things with Lemon properly.

Like, feelings aside Lemon really went out of her way to hurt Sunao despite him properly liking Lemon back then. There is no fixing that, all Sunao has now is just lingering feeling due to unfinished business towards her.

I'm already hammering nails on that Kogahara coffin. Sad for her, but well, we all knew we were going in this direction.
I still think the best outcome for this manga is for Akiyoshi to move on. Learning to move on. Well, I don't meant all break ups MUST lead to moving on, sometimes people reconnect, but this has clearly lead to this point, especially since Lemon didn't trust him enough before.

After reading the comments I legit had to double check I read the chapter right. MC said Lemon likes him. Not the other way around. Whereas he was pretty clear on liking the lil brunette (be easier if they all had fruit names). If anything this to me seems to be steering things towards him trying to not hurt Lemon while pursuing her more conventionally named friend. Lemon realizes what's going on and moves on for his sake; the end.
