Actually, a significant part of my friends are female, and you know why it works? Because not every meeting between people is fated to be a prelude to a romantic development.That’s why friendships between different sexes never really work.
And if they do, it’s either because you chickened out or you’re gay.
In fact, of all the friends I have had in my life, there are only two female ones with whom I even considered going further than being friends. One even clearly had a crush on me, but because she was in a relationship,p I decided not to act. The other one is aware I would date her if she wanted, but she made it clear that she has no such intentions, and with that, the discussion was over, and we instead focused on doing stuff that friends do together.
Long babbling short: It works, but you have to be clear about what you expect. And it helps to not be dumb teenagers anymore but in your late 20s or even 30s.
