So unless there's a huge twist that hasn't been revealed yet, Kusunoki "nerded" herself on purpose in middle school?
That's actually got me more curious about the reason she decided to go back to her good looks in high-school.
If it had been simply bullying that caused her to put up that shell, I can imagine her thinking that three years might be enough.
But Kusunoki got it into her head that her being pretty was the reason her friendships broke down, so there has to be a reason she decide to drop her "Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club"-camouflage, right?
(And the first time I saw that movie was online! I'm not that old, okay? You know, whatever! It's a classic, so get off my back already!)
