She's right, only 2d girls are pure. Let's strive to transcend humanity and become the 2d we've always dreamed of.

I love Ririsa she's free will incarnate but even her unpure side feels unrealistic because irl nobody would give a shit about a guy like Keisuke.

So the lovely snake woman was a snake from the start. And I thought I couldn't love her more!! Do it, Hebi! Break Kusunoki and have her start liking Keisuke or ask her to leave!!

You can see that right before Keisuke overheard them, Hebikawa's group was teasing her about talking to the class loner, so she ended up calling him gross because she didn't want it to effect her status. In other words, I don't think she actually wanted to be mean, but she thinks that being mean is the only way to keep her image. It doesn't mean she's actually a pure girl at heart, but after seeing her backstory, I can sympathize with her.

Idk, I feel like we got different messages about this chapter. The way I see it, Hebikawa's backstory shows how societal pressure and the fear of being alone made her the way she is today. She sees a pure girl like Kusunoki as a threat to her status quo, so in order to maintain her worldview that pure girls just don't exist and it's not her fault that she failed to become the pure girl that she idolized, she is trying to bring out Kusunoki's jealous side. Therefore, she's not actually acting on her own free will, she's acting the way she does to avoid being hurt. Yes, she's acting upon her own self-interest, but it's not her free will because she lets other people's beliefs affect her.
