@daywithoutgames rather than a goof i think it was to highlight rakan's emotional state? besides her face isn't depicted with any detail, kinda like in the first page where we see rakan's parents. shou fan and maomao are still the only two people who are depicted wholly with a full face. i don't see how it can be interpreted as rakan showing any sort of "care" towards granny.

@Ruixixi i haven't bothered to read the other comments because i don't want to start off my new year's with a headache, but slavery = a status in society and prostitution = a job/occupation. a slave can be made into a prostitute if that's what the slave's owner wants them to do. but a prostitute is not necessarily a slave, though most of the time i think this is what ends up being the case.

Edit: after finishing the chapter. It was a tear jerker for sure. But I have question, if he forgot that his making her fall from the top with make her a common prostitute then why did she not write him back when he send letters or tell his when she was with him? Pride or she thought he already knew?. A little confused on that part but overall it's quite a tragic story.
But why do MoeMoe hate him so much? Does she blame him?
Also, her tiny baby picky was also send.....such cruelty.
