declawing and filing/clipping are different things. First one means amputating the last phalanges to make the claws go away permanently, and it horribly messes with cats' health because they rely heavily on amortisation and balance.
What she does is filing its nails, which may mess up with hunting and occasional climbing, but otherwise is completely fine. Considering that it's going to interact with a small child, it's a necessary precaution.
