Oh my god the ammount of illiterate people reading this chapter is astonishing, I don't like the way the MC decided to go about things as much as the next guy but I can at least understand why he did it which he literally explains I this very chapter
(HE DID TO HOLD ON TO THE VERY WEAPON HE HOLDS THE MOST TRUST IN, HIS FUTURE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME, WHICH WOULD BECOME USELESS IF HE CHANGED THE PLOT THIS EARLY ON)
Sorry about the all caps it was just so frustrating seeing so many comment mad at what the MC did(reasonable) AND also wondering why he did it(unreasonable)

Except he's caused a number of changes already which are going to send things off the rails anyway.

For one, Riela is in the room and is extremely dedicated to the MC; and from her and other's perspective some rando baron's daughter just up and attacked a duke's son. Since MC didn't tell her anything about his plan, It would be completely weird if she didn't do something.

I know people are criticizing him going down the "villain route" but he literally said his reasoning in this chapter. He has to roughly follow the events of the game because his biggest advantage is his game knowledge. If he deviates it too much especially this early it only makes his life harder later on. Obviously he'll eventually reconcile with the heroine at some point, if not immediately depending on how the author goes about it.

the problem is that he was evading this type of development like the plague, he didn't even want to visit that city, we got a chapter about it, he was faking being scumultos to trick the villain there, but he was just with her maid so he would escape from the worse scenario with the heroine of the game, so him flipping the switch to let's do the exact same as the game is making people mad (also that the MC dropping a his IQ to the floor here), like if at least we would have gotten in his monologue him despairing that he got wet because the game is forcing this event to happen like what we saw and that's why he decides to follow suit, not because suddenly he went now I'm gonna to follow exactly what the game wants me to.

Am I crazy? Why are people expecting this MC to be smart and reasonable rather than a well-intention-ed misguided moron with encyclopedic knowledge of "the game" and just a generally unhealthy obsession with it and "the plot?" Nothing here played out in a surprising manner at all. It was all signaled eons ago. :wooow:

Yes, this chapter is late because I forgot about scanlating it cause I got too distracted by Summer Marciana. I'm not sorry at all ngl, she's higher priority so I had to get back into Nikke and grind to get her but I got her in the end.

Here's some bonus memes about Summer Marciana being stuck in my head for the past while.

It’s more important to know why you stopped playing Nikke than knowing mc wants to follow the plot
Nikke is a great game

It's fine to get upset at the contradictions in his logic here. Yes, not upsetting the game script means you have some foreknowledge of events. Also yes, you've already changed the game direction somewhat, so your plan is dumb.

What I disagree with is judging the story as bad, when it's the character being dumb. His actions here have a purpose for the story- it lets Ultos act like a comedic doofus while Otome-Game clichés happen to him. It's hidden-strongest gags, mixed up with ecchi girls and lucky perv gags, and while other characters treat the world as seriously as a heart attack. All in dumb fun.
