I find it interesting he's talking about working with primary colors. That works for additive mixtures like light (eg, computer monitor) -- but for subtractive mixtures, like bounced light, the CYMK (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, BlacK) combination is worlds better. Mixing primary RGB red/green/blue pigments darkens and muddies the more you mix. While you can still get bright colors mixing CMYK.

Interesting premise although the MC clearly has some kind of mental issue. No wonder everyone around him tried to get him away from painting. Theres a passion for doing something then theres doing something to the point of forgetting to do anything else including eating and drinking. As a result I just can't find it whimsical or cute cause all I can think of is man he really needs help.

Even though I called how the MC would just recreate his color paints, the way they went about it is fascinating. Of course applying natural pigments onto white paper would result in a lighter, paler color. On top of that, many pigments do brown over time so I was pleasantly surprised by that aspect. What I didn't expect was using collages of various colored objects so that it recreates their exact color rather than what little is transferred onto the paper.

A bit contrived? Sure. But it still is engaging to see how he tries to figure out the limits and rules of his abilities. The loophole that worries me is that if he can create tubes of colors more vibrant than if he mashed the plants and minerals directly, then wouldn't he only need to do the collage thing once per color? Afterall, that tube of paint can now make countless depictions of the same tube of paint, unless doing that slowly makes them paler still like how a photocopying a photocopy eventually fries it.

Wow that was a really creative and clever way to solve the need of pigments, but is too weird that in a lot of days living in the forest dont find other living being besides the cliffhanger one, you know like rabbits, and other friendly/hostile animals, adventurers, hunters or bandits

kinda weird plot hole i found, how does the size of item he draw change, like he draw mochi in small paper in comes out normal sized mochi and yet when he draw blanket in that same small paper yet big blanket comes out
