I'm surprised there weren't many comments about how scary as fuck that bird was. Especially when it gave him that bad food to make him feverish.

Factual correction to make (one I just noticed): although the bird is based on the robin redbreast (Erithacus rubecula), the egg colour matches that of another bird commonly referred to as a "robin," namely the American robin (Turdus migratorius). (Robins redbreast lay eggs which are cream, buff, or white spotted with beige.)

I wish I could get art supplies as cheaply and easily as Tougo.

The bird is freaky but the kid is an idiot. I realized why I had to put this down for a bit.

Why the heck would you think a bird the size of a person would be safe? Why approach their nest?! First time I see that bird, I'd be scared there's bigger animals out there that can eat me. I know the story isn't going down that path but he didn't know! Geez!

Also I sincerely hope he was not drinking out of the same water he was bathing and doing laundry in.

According to the novel, he drew glasses filled with water, so those were his source of drinking water. I'm pretty certain that Tougo just lacks common sense. He's too busy thinking about art (and common sense is less common than the name indicates, anyway).

He did draw glasses in the beginning but then he seemed to stop after he created the pond.

It's interesting to know that he continues in the novel but this is really a failing of the manga. Not many people will be interested or care to read the novel and this just adds to how much of an idiot he appears to be.

Adaptations sometimes have these kind of problems, particularly if it also involves condensing events and the like. (At other times, the adaptation adds some stuff, especially things which work better in the medium it was adapted to, rather than in the medium of the original. In this case, I'm guessing it's the condensing thing, although changes were made between the web novel and the light novel — the manga is based on the latter.
