While I totally understand your response, I have a different view on it. This development actually made me more interested in the story, because it's stupid in a weird and incomprehensible way! Now I'm curious what kind of idiocy will come up next!

Seeing how hardcore a simple group of poacher can be, thinking about of killing is not too hard, looks like they are unreasonable type of nasty person in the style of "Karate Survivor in Another World", that make you hard to let them live

...so we can thing there is a nice guy doing something nasty to an unfairly legally protected nasty bastard in some way to protect himself, their family, town, or just he was grossed of some injustice and get caught in some legal loop... Not sure just filling the white spaces

I feel conflicted about this. On one hand, I am glad that this is not a stupid stereotypical harem-building isekai. On the other hand, this is an awkward way to shoe-horn a new character.

Yes, the MC completely devotes himself to his arts, but don't think that anyone, especially from modern Japan, would simply waltz into a "prison" and hire a criminal, a murderer to boot, to be his/her attendant, regardless of how reliable this slavery system is.

You forget, the MC is autistic. Just straight up, this story makes a lot more sense if you see it as an autistic person with a hyperfixation on art

I'm not sure which sculpture of Hercules Tougo's thinking about, however, as for Laocoön, it's Laocoön and His Sons. There aren't that many depictions of Hercules as a grown man without facial hair (so this excludes the Farnese Hercules, which is what I thought of when reading the novel), but I couldn't find such a portrayal with a heavy enough brow (it certainly isn't the Capitoline Hercules or the Pompey Hercules).
