It's probably just a suit of armor that she puts strong dead bodies into and reanimates them. Takeru's dead body was the strongest one of the ones she's come across so she placed it in the armor.

This is my assumption, as well; a cursed armor that turns any corpse placed inside it into an undead puppet/animating force. It's curious that Takeru apparently has his full personality and memories, though, so it makes me wonder how much control the demon lord actually has, if any.

reminder that the soul swap happened because both of them "died at the same time", one got beheaded and the other tried to kill themselves by jumping off the school building or something like that
the soul binding magic probably tied both of their souls to the bodies and "healed" them, although right now only one seems actually fully functional

Whata twist, we are all so focused on Edelweiss we never expected the Spanish Inqusition. I'm back to thinking Edelweiss was the Demon Kings daughter the whole time but gave people a chance because she fell in Love with MC. Then they killed him and she raged.

MC did say that the Demon Lord liked to use Undead, so maybe either there are more Knights him, or Demon Lord discarded the old Knight and created a new one using MC's corpse, but Takeru somehow appeared inside it.
