I'm gonna bet that Cardinal / dragon girl is the only one of these people who's actually good, and Lilac + this girl are both up to some fuckery. The mountain region seems like a good candidate for a "we seem evil so we've always been persecuted and we're just defending what's ours" type of plot.

Indeed. I also noticed the plaster on the inside, which is kind of a waste in a log cottage, to hide the logs, but I got so invested in analysing the (outer) wall structure that I forgot it.

Sorta? You would use plaster for all the small air gaps that using whole logs tend to leave. You could also tree sap and such, but that's not a great match with stone hearths. A ton of these construction choices would be post construction, so it's not a huge leap if the home has existed for any amount of time.

The bigger issue is that they're in the middle of a flower field. And there's an axe with lumber to cut for fuel. Neither this home or the human village appear to have materials to source construction material. And while she can just Bampf to other areas to get lumber, the humans can't.

As I mentioned in my other post, she can just teleport to other areas for any materials. She could even be a merchant to other species to source materials that they don't have in their home area. But this implies a breakdown in their ersatz societies for unknown reasons.
