i mean, im pretty sure "messiah" is just being used as a generalized term here. i don't know what the original text is actually referring to, but it's possible that to the translators, "messiah" was the closest thing they could find, or they just wanted to sound fancy, yeah.

Yes. It's that retarded thing where the furigana reads one thing while the kanjis say another. It's 救世主 (lit. saviour) but read Messiah. It's just another case of author thinking a foreign word sounds cool, and extra cool if it has religious roots and slaps it everywhere in their work. So yeah, you are absolutely correct.

If someone is so overwhelmingly strong that you have to summon a super-powered hero from another world, I just can't imagine anything other than a game-breaking level of power that makes all plots useless before an absolute level of strength.
